I'm quite disappointed about Rey's origins, but then again, I sort have expected it. I was hoping she would be a secret descendent of Luke or Leia, but that would've been asking for too much. Also, like you two have mentioned, Rey was WAY OP when acquiring her powers. Basically what took Anakin and Luke Days or even months to master, Rey was able to accomplish in less than three days?! I'm calling total BS on that. It's like the movie wants us to believe Rey is a special chosen one, but SCREW YOU MOVIE, YOU DON'T CONVINCE ME THAT EASILY.
When Leia was alive and floating in space, my reaction was: https://i.makeagif.c...2015/f-hPMR.gif
If Leia had actually died, it would've given a good sendoff to the late Carrie Fisher and an opportunity for other main characters to rise and take charge... BUT NOPE, the movie had to make her live. Don't get me wrong, Leia is a personal favorite character of mine, and it would've been sad for me to see her die, but sometimes you just have to let some characters die off and let the story progress and grow. Now I don't know what they're going to do about Leia in future installments.
This is just a personal opinion, but I do not like Kylo Ren's character very much. He's a young man with the personality of an angsty teenager, and it pisses me off that main characters like Han Solo (and Leia almost) died because of him. I did have a little hope for him after this movie though, especially when he killed his own master and took control of the First Order, but his character has yet to convince me that he can be a favorable villain like Darth Vader.
