I was just wondering about which items in Neopia could be defined as the most "rare" nowadays. 

This information seem to vanish from articles and posts on the web around 2012 (e.g., Neopian Times Y14). 

So, which do you think are the rarest items at the moment and why?

Gourmet food first of all, and literally priced for 100mill practically 7 years ago.

According to jellyneo's database at least, 3 years ago users were selling for 10m-15m on the trading post. So, people probably wouldn't sell for 100m today. 

 

There are a few one of a kind items out there, which I suppose would be priceless. Most realistically obtainable items would probably be some r99/event exclusive stamps.

or, midnight jelly world stamp is one that wasn't duped. Really, anything that wasnt duped can be in the running.

So I havent played for a few years, but I imagine one of the rarest and most sought after would be Golden Mr. Irgo stamp, since it was a r99 album item for a couple months and then retired suddenly. So there can't be many floating around, and many collectors would put into album to take it off the market forever anyway. JN says in 2009 it was going for 250mil, and since it has been retired for over a decade, price has to have inflated significantly. 


But again, haven't been on. for all I know they gave it away in advent calendar.

 

 

eh, i fucked up. Apparently it was a r90, but only stocked for a few weeks in 2003. So still pretty damn rare, but less than I thought

@Kaddict i think there is a user that has one now. sell_me_stamps. He was just frozen but is now unfrozen, im sure he would disclose the value on it. I might ask him next time i get on neo.

It would be great! In the end are the owners of theese items that decide their actual value.

Some of the really old neo items I don't know as much about. Like murder mystery prizes etc. But usually the earlier big war plots had a few one of a kind items. Like Darigan Sword of Death. I don't think the data was ever released on the item, as it was certainly nerfed compared to when lord darigan used it (which caused 10 icons of damage of each of the 7 types), because that would be an overwhelmingly powerful weapon, making the user be able to outdamage their opponent by a margin of 3:1. But it is still 1 of a kinda and wicked badass. 
Lord Kass Amulet was also a pretty big deal, Back when I played a bit (5+ years ago was the bigger time) there was that one well known BD user who claimed superiority of the weapon and she (he?) was really good with it. But that is 2 of a kind I think.

Anyway, here is a list of some of the known 1 of a kind items that are obviously impossible to give a price for since there is 1 in existence. And many (if not all) of these are owned by inactive accounts/ (former) staff members

Darigan Sword of Death gives me chills and memories! Velociraptor claw is a big one!
I'm curious on how many eraser of the dark faerie and chia flour is left as of this moment.

r100 food or books are always a higher priced item but yes some of the stamps are silly money and that's if you can find one for sale.
