MJ got a lot of hate for his problems with vitiligo.

There are also people who have gender reassignment surgery, but they are probably not good examples of privilege either :p

I don't think a sex change automatically gives you privilege.

It's also a "privilege quiz", so it should already be pretty salty in here :p

What's intellectual privilege feel like?

Do you feel like you're less provilidged? More privileged?

By the common consensus that most people in America have, I'd be much higher but honestly, I feel like it should be in the 40's or lower. I am a white male from America, but I grew up poor, was a minority almost half my life, and got constantly beat up because of my race when I was in school.

I got 45. Which is confusing to me because I am decently priveledged.

When it asked me if I have been poor before I put yes. But I meant being 17 and living with a bunch of teenagers and being poor as shit. Never poor as a child. So thatā€™s probably where I got deducted points. I find this quiz flawed.

But aren't we all, as humans, just as flawed?

There were so many answers where I just had to throw something random in because they were so vague - classic Buzzfeed pandering lol

Guess this just doesn't adjust to my country reality it some matters, but generally... Yeah. Underprivileged flower child here.

You live with 30 out of 100 points of privilege.

You're not privileged at all. You grew up with an intersectional, complicated identity, and life never let you forget it. You've had your fair share of struggles, and you've worked hard to overcome them. We do not live in an ideal world and you had to learn that the hard way. It is not your responsibility to educate those with more advantages than you, but if you decide you want to, go ahead and send them this quiz. Hopefully it will help.

Over time, and more easily than they can stop being a girl or a latina, that's for sure.

Like I've said twice already, I'm not saying that wealth doesn't confer privilege, just that I think of it as a different sort of privilege.

It could be argued that it is harder to change your wealth than it is to change your gender now. I don't know if I would argue that, but it certainly could be argued.

I don't think a sex change automatically gives you privilege.

Especially since studies show that suicide rates increase after sex reassignment surgeries

Anyway, It said I was 50/100, which is odd bc I am the poster child of privilege, I thought.

Ugh, I got ninja'd between posts. My fault for just commenting again rather than hitting edit.

If you can afford gender reassignment surgery, you're probably not too impoverished in the first place :p

Yeah same. It definitely doesnā€™t take a lot into consideration and takes weird things in consideration. Does getting bullied online (I think thatā€™s what it was) make you under privileged? Also is that a compound word? Should I have added a dash in there? I have so many questions and this quiz answered none.
