I've always wanted to get into new mediums, since digital has been my primary artistic medium, so last Christmas I got some water colors from my husband. But I suck at water colors. They aren't forgiving at all and I lack the technical skill right now to do much with them. So last week I decided to give acrylics a try and man! They are so fun and so much more forgiving, in my opinion. Anyways, here are my pieces (will add more later) in order of completion. Please be nice. These are literally my first attempts at acrylics lol. Feel free to post your own non-digital works! I'd love to see them.

I just love the jellyfish! Where you blended the blue and purple at the bottom to create a deeper ocean look was great!

I wish I could paint like that, but I'm more of a doodler.

The owl is my favorite too. So far I'm not really liking my crow. I may finish it tonight and post the final version.

What I'm sure you can! I just looking up painting ideas and mimic them. I'm just learning how to blend and use the different brushes and making colors right now.

Lmao maybe more. I think I just have the time finally to discover what I can do. Before, I worked all the time and I was just too sick to ever do anything that I enjoyed. Since I quit my job to take care of myself and take care of my health problems, I've had more time and energy to try new things!

These are so good!! The jellyfish is definitely a favorite. Where/how did you start painting? I'm looking for more creative outlets lately

I actually just bought a cheap set of acrylics from Micheal's and some wrapped flat canvases and just decided to start at home. I have been reading stuff online about blending, making colors, brush styles and just kinda derping at home. No classes. No pressure. Just really trying to have fun and do whatever.

This is an update of #3 Crow

Thank you so much you two!

I kind of gave up on my crow for now. I may go back to it and try to fix it lol. For now though, I'm gonna work on learning how to paint lighting and depth and stuff.
