Hey guys,

Just a quick question regarding the Item Database price updates. I noticed the buyables price is not being updated by the Program Manager. In the application, it says that the database is being updated after I priced my shop, and in the database it shows my user and the time of the price update, but the actual price hasn't changed from before. How does the price actually update? In my Shop Pricer settings, I have set it to price for 1 NP below the lowest price. Could this be the reason why the price isn't being updated?

For example, for the item Singed Tyrannian Volcano Stamp, the price from the Shop Pricer was 35999, and the database before I ran the pricer was 43478. After I have priced the item and saved to my shop, the database now shows last priced by me, but the price is still 43478

From my understanding the itemdb is severely outdated because of the long period of downtime abrosia had and people not being able to update prices. Also if i'm recalling correctly the itemdb uses an average of multiple users prices and takes an average of what it sees. So if the old price from months ago was much higher or lower one single price from you isn't going to change it much or at all. It would take multiple users pricing the item over time before it adjust correctly.

Correct. When neopets was doing stuff with DDOS protection, it shut down Aborisa so we weren't able to update the database (since the database is updated through Abrosia running price checks in the background, and some neon-ap), so it may take some time for some items to return to normal prices. It does happen that some items prices are just messed up, and sadly there's nothing we can do about that unless they're UB's, in which case they can be manually updated by people with 500+ posts.

I recently returned, and bought advanced again and have noticed how outdated the itemdb is, but it will get better with time. Im letting abrosia buy whatever it thinks is profitable and selling it at whatever neon ap prices it at (mostly at a loss) hoping that in doing so the ItemDB gets some much needed updates.

Ahh I see now. Thanks a lot for the detailed explanations guys. I'll just keep running it daily then and will monitor the prices in the DB to see if it'll get updated eventually

I recently started again (not that any of you will know me as i tend to keep to myself). Randomly found 4 old accounts all 11year+ so decided to just run them on 4 separate IPs indefinitely. See if i can get anything cool and equally see how long they run 24/7 until freeze.

If i get 10x what i have now (1.5mil) then i'll start playing again on a main.
