I didn't get caught. I've bought items and NPs and I feel less guilty about that just because I know autobuyers and score senders exist, so they're not inherently being stolen. That said, I do feel bad about the UC. I ended up trading it away because I felt so bad. Honestly, buying NP and items and UCs has made the game less fun for me. (Although I don't feel that bad about the NP, because some items just feel totally out of reach without buying NP.) But when it comes to the pet that I traded the UC for, I can't even find myself enjoying it on my account because I know how it got there and I feel bad lol.

I personally deal with the guilt (though quite minor compared to what you seem to be experiencing) by being very generous with my bought resources, but ultimately if it doesn't make you feel good to buy your pets, you don't have to. the only purpose to buying items is to increase your enjoyment of the game, so if it's not doing that for you, it's totally within your right to abstain from it

Being generous with my bought resources does tend to alleviate most of my guilt. I ended up trading the UC, not because of guilt but because I wasn't really connecting with it or the name when trying to create a character for it, so hopefully it makes the person I traded with happy (or help reach their trading goals). I feel fine now, but when I posted this, I was sort of wracked with guilt, ngl. Not so much anymore. I'll probably keep buying NP once in awhile, but maybe not UCs again. Part of me wishes TNT would make it allowable to buy NP, but then I remember what happened to the Gaiaonline economy when that happened with their currency.

imo buying uc's is pointless like considering the state NP is in i'd rather pay someone to make me a fuckin UC neopet plushie...

now THAT'S worth the potentially hundreds you'd pay for a goddamn faerie wocky

I feel like I owe it to my 13 year old self to get that UC xweetok however possible now tbh. If the game wasn't so impossibly skewed still to favour players from neopets' heyday I wouldn't consider it but its so hard to actually achieve anything on new any more.
