I started playing neopets about 4 years ago. then after about 2 years, I quit, then I came back 2 years later. I remember a trick I used to do if I was in desperate need of items.

when I played a few years ago, people would hold contests, either in their shops or guilds. when ever somebody would win, they would post I trade in the TP that said "reserved for (username) for winning my contest!". well once, there was a post that said "reserved for cowgirl222 for winning my guild contest". it had some valueble items like paint brushes and neggs. well I created a new s/n. I called it cowgir1222. if you noticed, I changed the "L" in cowgirl to a number 1. well I offered something minor in his trade, and he accepted it. I dont know if people still make posts in the TP saying things like that, but if they do, I hope this helps.

I have done the same thing my old account name was favredriver4 and someone had won a contest who had the username favredr1ver4, and the person who was giving it out thought that I was hi'm and made an offer on one of my trades with an omellette in it for 750,000 neopoints. I was laughing so hard after that happened

hehe... useful trick not just in np, but being used in other online games too.

Another trick is to sell a full set of secret laboratory map on trade cheaper than the rest but instead of putting all 9 pieces, only put up 8 pieces.  Someti'mes people didn't count them and just offer I'mmediately because it is cheap.  You can earn abt 50K from this trick!
