When I joined (half a year ago?), this place had only about 6 or 7 rules... (looking at the current rules it'd be #1, #2, #4, #5, #6 and #7)... this was ok... we could talk about everything (excluding warez and rude/disrespectful stuff)... now we're getting over-moderated -_- (not to mention the above issue...) :lac:

ok, so maybe our host doesn't allow pr0n... but anything else is just plain restricting freedom of speechthe rule came about from typhoon posting the picture of the nude lady next to the fat nude lady...this is what we are talking about. any type of material of this sort. when I opened that topic after krnsaber sent it to me...(by the way, I was on super fast dsl so there was no reading the topic before it loaded) my mom was next to me and so was my 11 year old brother...they both got a good look at that and I got in trouble. I wont stand for having that sort of s*** on the forum. if you want to see porn, ask sloth to send you to one of his huge penis sites... but it wont be coming on this board. And, yes, this is li'miting the freedom of speech...but you have to understand that this li'mitation is for the greater good...to protect the eyes of younger children so that they dont have to be succumbed to such I'mages. (also our host doesnt allow pornographic material )
by the way:
Nope... my laptop screen can be only viewed DIRECTLY from the front, AND I always sit with it in such a way that no one else could see the screen anyway :harhar: :harhar: :harhar:I think we've all been there when we're lookin at pr0n and our mom or dad comes in lol

Anyway, I agree with netbususer, none of that, but having loads of li'mitations on what we actually say does seem a bit too harsh.

Same here...Yeah. I agree with valensin. We should still be able to talk the way we want to.
as I said, host rules are host rules , but restricting the freedom of speech is a totally different thing

were not going to ban you , you should know us better than that , but we are disbecausesing the rule currently...I somehow dont agree with all the context of the last rule. I mean we can live without pr0n (not totally sure about this ). but at least a half of the jokes threads I posted were having a "bad language" or whatever, so there werent for younger kids (just look at the wanted ad thread). but I dont think I deserve to get banned for this.
however, if there is a great public outcry against this rule we might stricten it up to make it more specific because I do agree, it is a bit vague

Let me give you an example Sloth:...
And this rule sucks!!! :ranting:
In YOUR house you may walk around buck-naked.
In MY house if you tried that you would get booted so fast your head would spin.
That doesn’t mean it’s wrong for you to do it in your house. It just means that there are appropriate places for things and this is not one of them.
We are not saying that you cannot use the occasional CENSORED, (we would ALL be at 80% warn), but explicit and graphical is where we are trying to draw the line.
I agree that with a rule like this you need to be precise with what is acceptable and what is not. No room for grey on this one.
Some people will be offended by this rule and say “free speech…†some would be offended if it’s not in place.
As a community we live by the rules because we choose to. If not there are other places to go where the rules are different.

I stand my case: no pr0n - ok (host issues ), but anything else is just li'miting the freedom of speechIt just means that there are appropriate places for things and this is not one of them.

And, my point is... we have too many restrictive rules.
*goes to digi to take a peek at the rules*
*can't find the rules at digi *
*doesn't even bother with NH*
