:happybday:
I have several questions:
- how do I make XChat work? it won't connect to any server...
- same for AMSN... (it seems that my network card config is screwed, but HTTP works )
- how to use WinE?
- is there something like AdAware for linux or is AA WinE-compatible?
- the system is working slower than ever (ie. nautilus takes 10 minutes to open!!! and it took WAY less some ti'me ago)... any ideas y?
by the way: +rep for all ppl that help me :p :)
by the way2: this is red hat linux v7.2...

seeing as linux is an open source program theres really not any need for ad-aware you can go and look in and see.... also ad/spyware usually works in secrecy and theres no secrecy in open source....so its pointless....you cant trick linux users.... :)
If you are looking  for an ad blocker, look for privoxy at (http://www.privoxy.org/)
all the other stuff I cant help with sorry:(

Nope, I don't need a popup blocker... I use mozilla firefox :p :happybday: :) :p
But the other s*** still doesn't work :(

I'm not sure why the other stuff wont work. (I'm a linux n00b aswell) But I know how to use WinE

How to use and install WinE:
1. dl it from http://www.winehq.com
2. open up the terminal while logged in as root
3. type in rpm -iv [directory/ies][wine rpm file] example:
rpm -iv /home/sloth/download/wine/wine.rpm
4. to open a program use the following syntax in the terminal
wine /programdir/program.exe
That should do it :(
