First off, we changed a lot of the rules and removed some because they had a lot of ambiguity in them. Here is a list of what we changed:
- Rule 1 - information was added:
If you have a problem with some other member, whatever his/her rank, you need to go through the proper channels and contact a moderator, supermod or an admin ASAP. Set up a meeting at a certain ti'me and be prepared to disbecauses both sides of the issue. Allow atleast 30 minutes for the issue to be resolved. However, if you fail to follow the proper processes you may be suspended for up to 3 days depending on the case.

8. Rude, and/or unappropriate first I'mpressions may lead to banning.
Don't come into NeoCodex asking about the programs, showing no repectable structure in your behavior. NeoCodex is a society, and though it has programs, we expect you to be an ordained member of our society, instead of a freeloader here si'mply for the programs. Also, make sure to introduce yourself as a new member first. Example: Hi where are the programs send to me pls my email address is [email protected] thx bye
This 8th rule will result in banning if not obided by.
- Rule 10 (previously rule 11, but changed because of rule 8's removal) - Removed because it is the same as Rule 1
10. The board will not tolerate threats in any way, including but not li'mited to: threats about leaving; notification to Neopets© of our existance; and violent threats.
Don't ever threaten us! This goes back to rule #1, as it is extreme rude and irrational, with little to no concideration of the outcome of your infidelic post/thread/etc. If you wish to leave, do so at your own discretion, but do not assume that we will do something for you just because you are going to leave or something of that nature.

Our host asks us to keep material that is meant for adults off of our board. This includes pornography and excessive swearing. We do tolerate swearing, as the really bad words have already been filtered, but we ask that you try to keep it to a mini'mum. Realize that if your swearing gets out of hand and is directed towards a single member, we may consider that as a flame and take the appropriate action.

In order to get issues the members have, resolved quickly and efficiently we ask that you appeal if you have any problems with anything concerning your account. Please reference below in the section of "when do I appeal?"
How do I appeal?
In order to appeal to anything that you find wrong on neocodex, we ask that you PM our appeals process agent. You may Personal Message hi'm here. In your message, be sure to explain who was involved and what happened...try to be as unbiased as possible and give the story from both sides, if you did something wrong as well...include it. It will only hurt your side if we find out that you did something as well and it was not included in the appeal request. Also, be curtious in your appeal request and be polite as well as civilized. Hostile appeal requests are most likely to be ignored. Good luck with getting your problem solved.
When should I appeal
Appealing is mainly done when you have a problem with another member of the board and need to get it fixed. This is the process described in rule 1. If you have a dissagreement, please use the appeal process and set up a ti'me to have the dissagreement sorted out.
Do not bring the disagreement to the board as it may turn into flames and that could lead to serious reprocutions for both you and your opponent. Also, please remember to be civil and to express yourself in a polite manner during the appeal meeting so that we may resolve the issue at hand correctly and efficiently.
Well, ever since we had the leaving issues, (http://www.ncodex.co...?showtopic=3384) things have been getting worse. More people left, and the "Unban LBA, Or I Leave" thing started. Well, the admins disbecausesed it, and we have decided to make quite a few changes.
First of all, we changed our minds about LemonyBrainAid. He did do stuff that was worthy of being banned for, but we had never been that strict before, and we were a little harsh, so he will get a away with a 10 day suspension. (9 days now because he was banned yesterday)
XenoCyde was being a real pain on msn, acted very childish about the recent issues, and insulted rdd and the administration (violating rule #1) He was going to be banned, but again, we decided that it would be too harsh, so he will be suspended for the next 5 days. He was Demoted from his mod position due to lack of use. (not because he did something wrong, he just never did anything on it)
Typhoon has been a great mod for a long ti'me. Unfortunately, Dr. Sloth just leftHowever, this opens up the door of SMod to Typhoon! Congrats Typhoon we know you will do a GREAT job as smod!
Ali and Valensin have been great, active and loyal to codex for a long ti'me now. Finally, they have their chance to I'mprove NeoCodex by becoming mods! I know you two will do a great job, and it will be nice to have a couple more females on the currently male-dominated staff. Welcome aboard and congrats to both of you!

I have poured my heart out in this post and id really like you all to read it, and think about what I'm saying...
This is probably my first (and hopefully last dissapointed post)... I am utterly disgusted with the way some of you have behaved in the last few days -_- ....some of the members actions towards the staff and admins have been disrespectful for lack of a better word. You have cau
sed me to doubt why I even asked rdd on january 19 to start neocodex. I hate thinking like that...because I know this thing is good...but it sucks with all of the arguing you guys do within each other over small things like who was banned and if they were banned unfairly...those who were involved in the "Unban LBA or I leave" club thing acted not only I'mmaturely, but wrong. There are ways, civilized ways, to go about deciding whether they were banned unfairly. This is just one example but there have been so many more...
I think all members need to realize that codex is brought to you for free, the admins and staff here are not paid to do what they do here (which is considerable someti'mes). The stuff I have seen utterly horrifies me that some of you could say such things. I'm not going into the details but a lot of you really need to clean up your act. I will never let codex become a society of flamers and name-callers, so unless you all that do that sort of stuff change your ways, codex will no longer be available to you. Dont get me wrong, all we ask is for a little respect...I mean, we bring you codex...and dont really ask for anything in return, except that you be active...we assume that you will respect our decisions, and if you dont, that you will go through the proper appeal channels to get your point accross rather than "UNBAN LBA OR I LEAVE!!!", or "you wanker, stop doing that s*** now" or "DAMN YOU RDD!!!" codex is not a site for I'mmature people and if you feel that the society is a little too advanced for you or cant give people respect and not call them names, then we dont need you here...
we try to bring you a democratic society where things are fair for everyone, I believe that it is ti'me for you all to make it fair on the admins as well...and not call them names when you dont agree with things that they do but politely and in a civil manner express your opinion.
There will be many changes in the next 24 hours, if anyone has a problem with these changes, please do what we ask and express yourself in a civilized way...we arent mean people and we are open to change...if you feel that the changes that we make dont suit you, then we will try to change it....so long as you are civil and polite about it...
from this day on, I never in my lifeti'me, ever want to see anyone call anyone else something hurtful...express yourself in a polite manner, and be civil about it...or leave codex and return when you can do so...
ANYONE[/b] disrespecting an administrator in that fashion again, you will have to deal with all of us. Please do not treat us with garbage, since we are only trying to make NeoCodex a better place to go!

Just as a summary as to what has happened in the last few days:
- Frizzle and Lemony fight, Frizzle is banned (some say unfairly, but he isnt coming back for now)
- Rule 14 added
- Sloth Refuses to enforce rule 14
- RDD is constantly harrassed by many members of the board, certain key players did the brunt of the harrassing though...
- Xenocyde goes crazy in the irc channel
- Elf decides he has had enough, and leaves but is convinced otherwise
- RDD does the same after anon calls rdd a wanker for making a rule about leaving topics, but is convinced otherwise...
- RDD shuts down the board to make repairs to all the cracks in our rules
- here we are at the present
