I have just received word that Digibliss is planning to overload our server bandwidth by making a contest for 15 million NP to spam NeoCodex. I will need all moderators and smods to be on alert.

Is it possible to give smods or mods "suspend" abilities for the short term?

Si'mple. All we gotta do is turn on flood control, so that they most they can pots is like once every 20 seconds, if they have the patience to do that for an hour.

You're all forgetting the si'mplest way of DoS... just refresh all available pages (start, login, etc)... works EXTREMELY well with a T1/T3 connection, and if they have access to a 100mbps uplink... (or have a hacked server with such uplink...)

acctually the best way to DoS someone (and I would know) is to overflow his server with uslles bits.

and usually the target of the atack is not being hit from one box, but from network of owned boxes.

from what I've heard, digi and neo_grl are the only ones keeping that forum going. I suggest that all members who have a cell with email set up a forwarding account just in case we get DoS, and we're at a party. I no I'm gonna do it.
