Meh I've never seen them work out...

I'd say bad but I've never been 'involved' in one.

PS Two people I know got married in runescape. The ceremony was fantastic, they all dressed up in cool robes and...*NERD ALERT*

Anyway, it was a joke marraige but it's kind of similar.

Not possible. People are social creatures, and we need physical contact to be truely involved with someone. Its extremely hard to hold a relationship over time with only the internet to have contact with.

I personally don't like making online friends... unless they are a really great person. :D

I don't think you can say its "good" or "bad"...as with everything there are different situations and different factors to consider. I have been online since most of you were babies and have met many many people face to face that I had met online. Now 80% of those people were just friends but I did date a few of them. (they lived fairly close to me..not on the other side of the world or anything like that) It has its advantages...you can get to know someone faster when you are in front of a computer because you are less intimidated or scared to open up. Some people are perfectly content with only having online contact with their significant other. Personally in my opinion they have issues lol. As a tool for getting to know people, the internet is a great thing. Unless you are a cyber-stalker and out preying on little kids!!! You meet people you would probably of never given the time of day to away from the computer. The internet sees no colour or race. Know what I mean?

On runescape this couple married and it made the news... :o

And I have this friend... whose friend was a friend with his guy over the internet and the guy hacked her computer and stuff and wiped it out

So, I say it can be both :o

Online relationships can work! Okay... physical relationships are a whole lot better. But when you want to be with someone, it DOES rely on just the personality match, rather than looks and physicalness (which is nice admitedly)

Online relationships are certainly possible, just as long as people *eventually* get together in RL. You can't carry out a whole relationship online forever.

But I've known people who met online and got married, etc.

I met my boyfriend in RL, but I got to know him online. ;)

And you. You're meant to be marrying me.

*Cries*

Who says I won't?

You're damn right they're better. I can't imagine talking to someone ONLY on the internet; how could you call that a relationship? Well, friendship could work, but not really much more.

To me, it will not work unless they end up meeting in RL like Casilla said already.

Currently one of my friends that loves to play CS all the time met this guy and she really likes him and he likes her. He might be moving to around where she lives for college so they might be able to hook up or something.

it could be stupid and bad
the farthest thing I'd ever go with online is just friends
I dont think online relationships can compare anything like wit the real thing...trust me..I dont get the same high happy feelin when I used to b wit 1 of my ex'z than when im talkin to sum1 online
it even more stupid if u have one with sum1 u've never met before because u can never for sure know if ur talkin to a sexy babe or a cow granny
but if u met sum1 online and u guys actually met could work but pure online cyber relationships are pointless
I hope I dont offend any1 who like got married to sum1 they found online

It's Weak and Pathetic.

Sorry.

I'd rather have the real thing than 1000 miles and a screen in between us.

I don't know... someone once said Life Sucks. Then you die. I disagree. I think life sucks, then you get cancer. Then you go into chemotherapy. You lose all your hair, you feel bad about yourself. Then all of the sudden the cancer goes into remission. You look good you feel good, you're going great, and all of the sudden you have a stroke. You can't move your right side. And one day you step off the curb at 68th by Lincoln Center and bang, you get hit by a bus. And then, maybe then, you die. (yes.. yes... stolen and memorized from dennis leary. credit where credit is due.)

Very well used, however I enjoy the poodle man rant better :p

I couldn't see an online relationship working. So much could be concealed :/

aww alixkins! I luffle you! it's just something stupid I'm trying to convice myself... my significant other is wanting to move on I guess now because long distance relationships never work I said it myself.. (I used it as an excuse to not date an old friend of my ex-s/o and myself.) and I suppose I'm just trying to move past this stupid lack of all interest in any member of any sex... I've lost all interest in growing close with someone.. or companionship... or even for the typical male answer... I lost all interest in all sexual activites as well.

Ok  , maybe if you did not have so much negative things inside you wouldn't feel like that. Also meeting the right people, I guess you would not feel like that also. It just seems like you met some wrong people.

Perhaps... you could call the relationship between my boyfriend and I online. You see he's going to college 1800 miles away from me. We know each other in real life... we just never get to see each other, y'know? We're talking constantly and every night we try to talk on the phone for at least an hour. It's difficult sometimes, but... we both think it's worth it. We'd rather suffer a little right now rather than not suffer at all but never have each other, y'know?

But perhaps this is called a long distance relationship not a online one. I don't know...

can be good... but I don't think they work out... I hate to say this as I'm moving and leaving my 'life partner' behind... but long distance relationships rarely work out.. unless you see each other semi-frequently... so no.. I don't think online relationships are too good...

I can actually put everyone right here.... I met someone on ICQ over 5 years ago. I was with that person for 4 years. but we grew apart... They do work out, you have to make it work

Meh I've never seen them work out...

Take a look at me, I met Aaran online, chatted for 3 years, we met fell in love, moved in with him, he took on my two boys and now I am expecting again

Acutally it is weak and pathetic. Unless you know the person in real life, you cannot get invovled in a deep and meaniful relationship. If it's a long distance relationship like Tietel then that's completely diffrent.

And why didn't you meet up with him earlier then? I agree it can be good to get to know someone, but it's still not a good relationship.
