Are you crazy? 5000 years is nothing in the life of the earth...

It's gonna be a few million years before the end of the world...

yes 5000 years is nothin wit the history of earth.but it is the human actions factor that will make the world last shorter.we are killin our own earth with the stuff we do, so unless we develop new technology to planet hop, our ever growin population will cause many problems for us and our polluting ways are poisonin the earth.

Hmm... Maybe it is humans that will end, and not earth itself. God (if he is believed by you) may choose to create a new race, though I have not heard much discussion on dinasours probably for a reason.

I think the human kind might take a very long time to end as were getting close to living in space and on other planets. but for the world I think that we will colide with another galaxy or we get sucked into our own black hole. I dont belive in all that religion crap. or any apocoliptic stuff. if you think about it its pretty funny how every generation thinks there the last gerneration.

The Bible directly points out that sexual content (Such as porno) or known as "desires of the flesh" are a sin, and of course someone had to start the cult <_<

Desires of flesh could be talking about hunting or eating raw flesh. How do you know? The bibles too vague. And the first thing God told Adam and Eve to do was to go have sex. So sex is a good and not a sin.

True point, but Adam and Eve were supposed to be naive at the time.

I don't remember when he told them to directly have sex. Can you please point this out?

Genesis 9:1

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Is that what you were looking for? God saying "Go away and have sex" :p

I think the fact is sex shouldn't be so pleasurable if the almighty god only wanted people to have children.

I didn't know you defined sex as having children. I am reffering to pornography, where you do it for the lust and desire, not to have children.

Well I imagine sex was the most popular way to conceive children then as it is now...

<_< So basically everyone that doesn't believe EXACTLY what you believe should die a horrable death?

WOW , I have really , really misinterpreted Cathlics up to this point.
I honestly think its the people like you Alias that should die a horrable death , people that think they are right and superior twards everyone eals.
If you could make 'non believers' die or go to hell watever without any mercy -or emotion then Alias I think it is you that has turned around the teachings of Jesus.
He tought people to LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS ( or something like that ) But you , on the other hand , wish your neighbors death.
-I can really tell how you accepted the teachings of Jesus.

I'm not even going to take the time to quote the rest of it. Broken, its obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. Where on earth did this get into a debate about Catholics?

Yes, Alias, I had already said that I know how this debate has been going. It's the way all religious debates go. Same for political debates. You're right, they're wrong, is the mentality for both. You need to quit while your ahead. This is going to end in nothing but a head ache.
For the sex thing...David sinned by sleeping with a woman that wasn't his wife, killed her husband, and he DID have a son by her. So that has no relevance...I'll go look it up later but there is a section in the bible that is talking about the way a married couple should work and one of the verses was about "after enough time to pray, come together again so the devil may not tempt you." It was talking about using sex with your spouse as pleasure, and for the obvious as well, as its better than being seduced by someone else. The whole "don't spill your seed" thing was in the old testament, and made void by the new testament laws.
I'm married, I have sex probably daily, and its certainly not to have babies. I don't cheat on my husband, nor does he cheat on me. God is pleased. ^_^

The Universe is infinite, it shall never end.

However, the human race are feeble, stumbling infants in the dark. We shall snuff it, eventually, of that I have no doubt. However, no God will be responsible. ;)

Aliens might be responsible, though, if we want to talk about external influences. =D

agreed. lol, why would God create comething to be destroyed or blownout or whatever u want to call it? just a thought

We are on two seperate tracks right now. Look, I don't know how else to explain it. God knows what's going to happen until the end of the world. He knows everything, what your going to wear tommorow, but does he "say" what your going to wear tommorow.

Like let's say who ever invented porno, a deep sin. God "knew" he/she was going to create it, but how could he of stopped it without intruding your right of free will?
Wow. I didn't call it a fantasy, it's my personal opinion. It's called "Mind your own buisness". I don't care if you take it as an insult okay. I mean really, it's like you saying that "God is a man" and me going "OMFG, wow you just totally insulted christianity" and going crazy, which I didn't. In other words, your being immature, please move on or grow up.

Example:
Take your PERSONAL affairs out of this debate!!!!

 Okay ; one: You're the one that called buddism a complete fantasy , not me.
Two: By you calling a religion a complete fantasy and me ( Hyperthetically speaking ) calling god a male is two different things.What you said what insulting and mean.You mocked my beliefs. { Would you like it if I called Christianity a complete fantasy?-My point <_< }
You probably ( PROBABLY  ) know nothing of the buddist religion , so thus for I personally think you have no right to call it a fantasy.(WAY OFF TOPIC RIGHT NOW)-But yes , we do all have freedom of speech.

Uh, lets see, sex sex sex....

Proverbs 5:18-19
"May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer- may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love."

And Read all of 1st Corinthians 7 (here's a few quotes)-
"Now it is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
"The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone..."
This is the part I was trying to quote-
"Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."

Check it.
Now you won't have to feel bad when you get married and realise that "Hey! This stuff is kinda fun." ^_^

Once again, I was talking about porno. Why do we keep getting of track here?

Porno is a guy and a girl that usually don't hardly know each other and they commit into 'hardcore' sex. Show me that in the bible please?

Yes, that's how we got to the whole sex debate, but then it turned into actual sex. I was replying to that part of it.
And really, we started off talking about how the world is going to end so...getting from porn to sex between a couple isn't that much of a stretch. ;)
You make me giggle Alias, I'm starting to see why you like badgering these people. No hard feelings towards you, truly. The more I read this topic, the more I see why you keep getting so angry. Still...this is going no where. :p

I think we are going to destroy ourselves. We will either end up killing everyone in war by some big new high-tech weapon, or the weather will get so extreme it will kill us. That will be judgement day IMO.

*yawns* lemme sum things up. Catholics are a form of christianity, it's hypothetically not hyperthetically, porno is a sin but sex between a married loving couple isn't, blah blah blah... we're not getting anywhere but off topic.

Not saying that where we're going is a bad thing, but we're just not going anywhere. It's obvious that no one is going to convince ANYONE seeming as how 10 pages of posts were about the same damn thing. So why don't we just shut up for a while about adam and eve and genesis or anything like that and why don't we just discuss the end of the world?

True say, Tetiel. I was just about to make a simular post.

Even though I seem mad, im not. After each reply, I literally still start laughing. Some of the stupidity that is expressed (No offense) really does get me going. The funniest thing I have seen so far is when people talk about the Bible when they have never read it in the first place.

So in reality, this is really entertaining.

Indeed, I have been watching silently at some hypocracy myself... it's good for some cheering up about my faith in humanity xD

Ah well... my whole opinion: I don't know for sure who is right so I'm not about to tell them they're wrong in their beliefs, but I can only say I disagree with them. However if someone spews bs about the religion when they obviously know jack shit about it... THAT is when I have a problem.

Ah and how the world is going to ultimately end? Probably how scientists say it will. The sun will grow really large and stuff and swallow the earth to its firey end. HOWEVER... I'm not saying God wouldn't be behind it ;)

Actually what will happen is eventually it will turn into a red giant many billions of years from now and when it does that it will take out even Mars. Then it will become a very cold sun.

Have you read the Magician's Nephew? It talks about a Red Giant there...

 I suppose that's possible although I never would've thought the end of the world would be caused by the sun being to cold..I'm sticking to my arigional
belief ; if/when the world does come to an end it won't have anything to do with
religion, solorsystems, the sun and ect. , it'll be caused by humans ; ex. lack of resorces ( water I suppose  ) , enviormental issues , war/bombing ect.
-In other words humans will bring it on themselves.

I didn't say that it would be due to the sun being too cold. I said that the sun would inflate to a huge size taking out all the planets all the way to Mars and thus destroying Earth completely.

Why does everyone think the end of the world is the end of the human race?

I think a lot of us are expecting it to be sooner than what it would take for us to be out of here. I think that we'll be on mars before the end of my lifetime, but like you said...we're expecting it to reach all the way to mars.
I have no way to prove it, its just something I feel in my gut, I think the end of the world will be within my grandchildrens lifetime. I just don't know how far we'll be by then.

I think the funniest part is how Alias repeatedly goes back to "why does everyone attack me for my religion?! you're all so mean and intolerant" when HE was the person who started this thread with a kinda condescending summary of Christian beliefs ("Don't fret though, the logic in it is obvious and really plain to see.") and basically sat back to wait to pounce on someone who says something about it.
