Suicide is a sin in most cases. The only exception is if you have a fatal disease (alzheimers).

Commiting suicide is like spitting on your parents and god.

It's not a sin. YOUR CENSOREDING KILLING YOURSELF. YOUR MAKING GOD HAPPY BY QUITTIN OUT ON HIS TRIALS.

If you're talking about being a Christian/Catholic, God doesn't want you to kill yourself, he wants you to live it out, face the evil and God will be there with you. Suicide is against the Ten Commandments.

yes I think it is.... but in some countrys it is illegal to commit suicide. lol, u could get the death sentence. lol

Not really a good point, this statement contradicts itself. In the US, if one fails to commit suicide, then he/she goes to a counselor and through all this stuff to make sure you don't think about suicide again.

I am atheist, but I don't think killing yourself is a sin. I know 5 people in the last month who have killed themselves. Two of them X-girlfriends of mine.

Who were you dating?

I personally think suicide is a sin. First, it's against the Ten Commandments. Second, life takes you through the ups and downs. You just gotta learn how to face tough times and God will carry you.

Ahh.... I was refering to more puritan type church surrondings. But yea, it's more logical to be a trial that if you accept and face with god. I'm not saying the faith is a problem here but there are several suicidals that finally just think there is not God because God has not "guided them". If there is a god, its a marvelous misundestanding. But you never know :/. I'm just gonna live out my life so I dont get poked on as "Hey, hes that kid that committed suicide. what a loser" especially when theres a lot more to do in life then whine and moan.

I wouldnt call it a "sin" per say but it would also depend on the circumstance

I think it depends on the circumstances. I couldn't blame someone for killing themselves if all that was left for them was a life of pain. However, if someone were to kill themselves over a trite matter, perhaps it is. But if they had a mental disability, perhaps it isn't...

I don't really think we can judge it as sin or not sin. Once it is done, it is done. We must focus on why these things occur, and prevent them from occuring. Once they are dead there is no point in arguing over whether or not their chosen death was not fitting of a holy life.

If someone commits suicide, they should be mourned, and we should double our efforts to see to it that we never let anything like it happen again. Unfortunately it seems only through pain do people truly grow in this life. Perhaps one day we'll live in a world where some aren't driven to end it all.

amen to that

I think suicide is a sin...ur wastin a life given to you by God and by your parents.it is also selfish if you have people that care for you as you will be puttin them through unneeded sadness and pain.if life's got u down you should get back up not give up.suicide is like hating yourself as you know that you are taking away your own existance on earth.but I guess there are rare certain circumstances where suicide might have been the only way
but some cultures are okay with that like with the japanese samurai I think

I got a question..
Would taking the bullet for someone or saving someone's life with the cost of your own be considered a suicide?

Obviously not. Suicide is killing yourself with intent. If you died by sacrafice, you wouldn't be killing yourself intently.

Yeah. Sacrifice is like the opposite of suicide.
