Either way you should feel like a pessimist. You could have a full glass, can't you just go to the kitchen and fill er' up.? : ) Optimistic is to Pessimistic as Scene is to Emo.

Many of the older topics are much more interesting than the new ones, why bring them back? : )

That is very rude, you have no idea what I plan on doing. There is now a topic about "grave digging" let's continue there.

I would usually say half full, until I realized it can be interpreted as half empty some time ago. I'm an optimist I guess Posted Image

im more the type to (over) analyse the situation before making up my mind.
continuing with the metaphor, id ask myself questions like:
how was it originally, are there smudges on the glass, water around the base, shit like that...

Depends if the glas was ever full or not. If i drank half of it Id say half full.. while if it was empty and i got just half a glass i'd say... no wait I'd still say half full. xD

I think that the point you are trying to convey will be reflected in your choice of words. By this I mean: if you are trying to show how a new drug saved the african population from death you could say "50% of the population has been saved" instead of saying "only 50% of the population has died"

So how would you use that in a sentence? "My glass is half" to me it doesnt make sense. maybe i fail to see something.

Really depends on the situation....

If you're 50% done battling monsters, it's half full. For the monsters, however, it's half empty.

In terms of food and drink, if you're eating/drinking it, it's half empty. You are emptying it.
If you are filling a bowl/cup, it's half full. You are filling it.

:p

I believe the correct answer is "Stfu, at least you have a glass of something." I jest though.

Like others have said, it's just half.

If it were represented on a pie graph, the glass would be half empty AND half full... And I like pie...
