I think it is because it is counting posts from yesterday, and as they get more than 24 hours old they no longer count in my post count for today which is why it's shrinking.

Yep, my theory is correct, you went down 2 posts, Archon went down 3 and other people whom I haven't been keeping track of seemed to go down.
