"The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt." - Bertrand Russell.

During the Anglo-Saxon period, carrying a weapon was a sign of being a free man, as slaves were prohibited from bearing arms.

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. ~Mark Twain

I think it lookes really good too. I have a problem with going to movies, though. My girlfriend and I dont pay enough attention. We spend the whole time..."talking'.

My freind won't shut up about this movie. I think it looks cool but all i know from the commurcials is that he has knives...and likes to stab people with them...

    good enough for me.

:D I went last night too, Netty. It was exquisite, I loved it. And I saw it with a good group of kids (meaning: the only liberals within a hundred mile radius) and while I heard a lot of giggling at the LESBIAN PART! it was generally good to reinforce propaganda in each others' ears as it went. <3

Also, it was a stunning action movie beyond the thought-provoking-nocity. All in all, I give it:

    my virginity/10.

The arc of time, the stench of sex, the innocence you can't protect.

Saw it today, was a very good movie. I liked how they tied in the stuff about the government being corrupt and everything. I can't come up with much to say about it except for amazing. :p

    I loved his mask. :p

I just came back from seeing it..

    CENSOREDing. Amazing.

I will NOT censor myself, because this deserves it.

The whole thing... it just.. works. It's incredibly psychological.. I love movies like that.

    Promotes terrorism? Ha!
He fights a righteous battle, against a vastly corrupt and fascist government. He fights the good fight.. and is labeled a terrorist by the government.

    Promotes terrorism, my ass.

EDIT: Nevermind, guess it censored me anyway :p

I'm thinking there will be a sequal. There's a few things missing from the story, like who he really is and a few other things. Maybe I'm just hoping for one. :p

    Nuh-uh.

Some things are better left unsaid.
The Wachowski brothers redeemed themselves with this movie. They better not CENSORED it up :p

    yes.. amen..

as I said to marcos in the theatre "One mans terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."
Ah. So its going to be that way, is it? Unfortunately, Guy Fawkes day has no relevance in the United States, and the capitalists don't control every aspect of our lives yet. Then again, it'd probably be just as bad if the State controlled everything as well. I think I was arguing with Casilla about it a while back... which of those two extremes was the lesser of two evils.

Anyway, my favourite line from the movie was when the thug held up a convenience store with the Guy Fawkes mask and shouted "Anarchy in Britian!"

no. there can't be a sequel... it would ruin the whole idealism behind the film.. if a sequel is made.. then the Wachowski Brothers really effing sold out to mainstream america.. I admire them now.. I hope they dont disappoint me.

I guess they sold me out before though too..

I ADORED the matrix when it came out.. I thought they where the most brilliant screenplay writes EVER... then the sequels came and it pissed me off.. I hope they wont do that again.

it just wouldn't make sense for them to..

I have to agree with you about the sequel thing, but you might not realize that The Matrix was origionally written as a 3 part screenplay. They basically tried to pull a George Lucas. (Star Wars series).

Except Star Wars took something like fifteen years to come out (the whole trilogy) while the matrix happened over the course of 3-5 years.

Yeah... still took something like 10 years. It took a decade for all three of them to come out. The others came out in the 90s... over twenty years later.

yeah... anytime he was on that huge glaring screen I could only notice his rotten teeth (which I Think is where the attention was meant to be grabbed.. but his pupils where so bloody huge he'd looked way more than drugged.. he looked drugged and in a pitch black room.. I honestly don't see how they did that one.. effing freak is what he is.. :p
Oh! The Chancelor... I thought PM meant Party Member... which was confusing because they were all apart of the Party. But yeah, I noticed his huge pupils.

Seriously, most movies aren't made because producers don't think they'll make enough money. What would happen if we gave them our 6.50 every time we saw a completely awesome movie? Wouldn't it be logical that we would see even more completely awesome movies?

I just got back from a movie date (with marcos for all you curious ones..) and we went to see V for Vendetta.. I must admit it was a great film and would recommend it highly.. many of you probably wouldn't understand nor appreciate the messages that this movie sends but you will most likely enjoy it for the simple effects of it's entertainment. It is 132 minutes running length though so be prepared to be out for a few hours...

Why do you think no one will fully understand or appriciate this film Codeh? ^_^

It looks like a good, yet scary movie. I would see it ... if I were less of a scardy cat to see it alone.
Whenever I'm at the movies with friends I could cling onto them and hide my head on their chest (...If it's a male...). :p
Looks like a really good movie, though.

wow, what a great freaking movie... and yeah after watching it on my computer I decided to see it at the theater... Just got back from it... This is a great movie has a lot of meaning to it. I can hardly believe that this movie was allowed to be made. It really hits what is going on in today's society, makes me wonder if one of our generations will see a revolution in USA... I woulden't be supprised to see one in the next 100 years.

I watched it with 7 of my good friends that went to Purdue with me and live in the area... They were all blown away by it and we're having some really good discussions about the impact of this movie and its meanings.

I'd suggest everyone to go watch this movie and really try to compair how whats going on in the movie applys to whats happening in the world today.
