Anyone here big into hockey?

If so- Who is your favorite player? Which team is your favorite?

Personally, I love the Minnesota Wild. Im from Minnesota, so yeah. My favorite player (If you follow hockey) would be Derek Boogaard- Their enforcer :shifty: Either that or Filip Kuba (I play defense myself :) ).

by the way- Any Cannuck fans stink :p

The Cannucks are good, but its still our best rivalry. Cant wait for the game on Friday after the game last night. Its bull shit how they called a border-line penalty call with a tie game with less than 2 mins remaining. It shouldnt happen!

Joe Thorton is a giant- Seriously. Hes a good player too. Carolina? Lol, Eastern Conference teams had it easy this year.

Cariolina is a tank of a team, plus they work semalessly as a five man unit. I can see them or ottawa (although these guys will porbably choke xD) facing off against Calgary or detroit.

I hope its Calgary or Detroit, although the Stars could possibly pull it off (Doubtful), I dislike the Avs and Cannucks a lot. If you remember back to the season before the lockout you would know why.

Your food chain of hockey doesn't include the team which is first in the league, the Detroit Red Wings.

Carolina is a good, young team. They have a lot of potential, but they don't have the depth that a team like Detroit has. One of the reasons the Red Wings have done so well this year is because of their mainly injury-free season.

Manny Legace also proved he could be the go-to guy this season, earning the NHL's defensive player of the month award in October with a league leading GAA and Save Percentage. This was, of course, before he was injured after Barnaby was knocked over on top of him. He came back after that and managed to grow back to almost where he was before the injury.

My prediction, Detroit and Ottawa in the finals.

Steve Yzerman is the longest running captain of any professional sports team.

He had a good run, 690+ goals so far. He'll be number 6 or 7 (I think he's several goals from 7th right now) on the all-time goal scoring list before he retires.

The Wild beat the F'ing Cannucks last night in a shootout :) Fernandez had a stellar performance (I like that word- Stellar, lol, sounds nerdy ;)). Mikku Koivu had a sweet move in the shoutout, he worked Auld.

Boogaard didnt fight :( Hes a good fighter though- Personally, I think that anyone who messes with him is a crazy :).

Its not freaking random. Three 20 minute periods, if there is a tie there is a 5 minute overtime, and if the tie is not broken there is a SHOOTOUT!

Since they resurface the ice between periods I think 20 min periods with 15 minute intermissions is pretty good. Of course, like football, the 20 mins take much longer than 20 mins.

The Wild have won 3 consecutive games in shootouts! Harding became the first goalie to win his debut game in a shootout :) Its been SWEET. Oh, and the Cannucks currently dont hold a playoff spot!!!!!!!!
