I dont believe in hell and I kindof dont believe in heaven.
But I do believe there is someone up there and when we die I think we will just turnoff and nothing will happen and maybe become another person.

Its kind of depressing in that mindset, since you won't remember your past lives, regardless if you had a good/bad life.

In a way life is eternal, when things die they rot, other things feed on them and grow, then they die and so the cycle continues...

I just cant find myself to belive that after I die I will go some where. To either heaven, hell or any where for that matter. My girlfriend hates talking abou this with me since she is a very strict christian except for the part that she is dateing me.

I just think that when we die we are just gone. Our body is to old for us to use anymore so we are finished.

i think when our brain cells die, thats when your gone. I dont think there is a soul becuase our brain is what drive our imagination. should we be worried? no, it will eventully happen. im not worried i just dont want to die being cooked alive. that shit would hurt. I also think some religions view of what happens after death, well seems very silly. and is life short? i dont think so, almost all people do the same thing every day and its not really that fun.

I am of the opinion that we are all energy. And in day to day life we transfer energy from other people we trade off we play we use and it is put back into what we are using it for. The Law of Conservation of Energy states that Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. I am of the opinion that once we die, we simply return into that of the energy we where created from. As a christian you could take what I've said and make it rather than going to 'heaven' becoming one with 'god' and that would be your complete state of heaven. As an atheist you could take what I've said to mean that we return our nutrients into the earth and the energy that we were is transferred to living things and the cycle repeats. As a Buddhist you may see my POV as simply reaching self actualization.

But regardless of how you interpret what I said.. those are my own personal views on the matter... I rarely share my own deeper religious and philisophical views.. but there ye go.

Haha... this question has come up more than once before in many places. Well, I don't think it really does matter, as we can't do anything about it. It's best just to wait it out and see what happens. As for religion and all, it's all awesome because it's like a reassurance and a pill that comforts you. I mean, we'd all rather think that we went to heaven than that we rot away...

To be honest i wouldn't want to spend eternity anywhere, whether heaven, hell or on earth, i think around 80 years is enough to live personally and it doesnt make sense to me that people would have life for only around 80 years then spend eternity in 'heaven'/'hell'...

I'd say cody is the closest to my opinion with his atheist version.

Yeah... it's not that 80 years is not enough to live our lives, but it's just a comfort to many to think that we go to some "cornicopia" than just die away... especially for those who start to near the ends of their life strands...

Once you are dead. You are dead; worm's meat. You no longer exist, you cannot think seeing as that you are dead. You are nothing but a memory. The end of your existance in any shape or form.

I've come to this conclusion with the principle of occam's razor; I simply believe that it is more logical to die than to turn into a spirit and fly away to Heaven where you meaninglessly float around.

Exactly my point, joxco. Of course one would rather think of actually "continuing life" once they are dead than just dying away. However, as sockopen says, it often comes down to harsh reality rather than preference, and it is definately more logical and realistic that one just dies.

Me? I think life just ends, that's it. We're no longer concious (sp?) beings, so how can we feel, think, see, touch? It will just be complete blackness.

I believe that when we pass away our bodies die but our souls live and they take a break up in heaven until they are reborn. I'm pretty odd eh?

I am with the intelligent people. Nothing is after this life. The belief in a higher being and heaven/hell is jsut a human condition that forces the (weaker) of the species to have total fear in death. Death is a very natural process and should be embraced. Don't think I am condoning murder! Premature death is very wrong in my opinion.
I think one's life should be extended for as long as possible. Those who murder and kill are taking away one thing they can't ever give back, and it's the only one you get. Since I believe there is nothing after, it makes me feel life should be lived to it's fullest, fac eit, it's the only one you get.


But yeah. Die, rot, dirt, tree. Pretty much. Peice.

And how do you know that I cant prove it? - I can prove it using logical reasoning and have done so before on Neocodex. I can prove the prophecy of the Prophets He sent down, may peace and blessings be upon all of them.
