go to opera.com and download it all over again. it should detect your architecture on its own and then redo those steps.

dont know but the reason opera didnt work before was because my architecture is i386 and yours is not...

you should make sure before you install :-/...always know what type of hardware is on your computer...saves a lot of trouble later...

it wont make a difference...its the same operating system. in fact, the other one most likely wont work as its a totally different architecture...

the one you currently have...should work, the instructions we provided above should have worked blink.gif..

if you want, you and i can do a remote desktop connection (preinstalled in linux) and i can try to figure it out for u.

Its *Ubuntu, and us here at neocodex prefer it with a K. [Kubuntu.]

Its a variant of LINUX. Linux was created by Linus Torvald, and is unix, command line based, also with a gui.

Linus only wrote the kernal ... richard stallman was the one creating programs like gcc (GNU C Compiler) for his GNU (GNU's Not UNIX) operating system since UNIX was proprietary i believe.

I had the same problem, its because the ubuntu u got, is for x64, i.e 64bit processes its not quite functional yet, I think you need to get the 32 desktop one or something like that.
