How to Get a Painted Neopet
You have seen them before. You see them on user�s lookups, and stare at them with awe--they are the famous painted pets. Almost every Neopian�s dream is to acquire a Paint Brush so they can paint their pet a fantastic color which is displayed on their userlookup. But many Neopians give up when saving up to buy a Paint Brush because they are very pricey. Believe it or not, you don�t need a Paint Brush to paint a pet! There are many ways to get your pet painted without spending a million neopoints.
Random Events:
One day you could be strolling around Neopia when all of a sudden you see the �Something Has Happened!� sign above the webpage. And when you read to see what has happened, you see that you are now the lucky owner of a Grey Paint Brush! And although some users never get a Paint Brush from a random event their entire Neopian career it does take place every once and a while. But you don�t need a Paint Brush random event to get your pet painted�.there are many other ways.
Boochie- That baby Bruce is up to no good. Well, actually many users are in love with him. Why? Because sometimes he appears out of nowhere and zaps one of your pet with his laser, which turns it into a Baby!
Fountain Faerie Quests- Remember that one time when you went to Faerieland and you went to the Rainbow Fountain and the fountain faerie said �My beautiful fountain is not working. ?� Well, you can�t use her fountain unless you get a random event, which she offers you a quest. Although the quest items she requests are rather pricey, it is definitely worth it. If you complete the quest you can go to the Rainbow Fountain, and choose from an assortment of different colors to paint one of your pets with! You can even get this spiffy avatar:
Games/Competitions/Plots:
Alien Aisha Vending Machine- You can sometimes win Paint Brushes from this game. But the chances are very slim. If you do happen to acquire a Nerkmid I wouldn�t get your hopes up if I were you.
Fruit Machine- You can sometimes win a Paint Brush from the Fruit Machine. So make sure to play this game every day!
Creative Competitions- If you participate in a creative competition such a caption, beauty, storytelling, poetry, and the art contest, and win you are guaranteed to win a random item. Sometimes this item can even be a Paint Brush! But remember you could just get a bottled faerie too.
World Challenge Map Pieces- If you are superb at flash games then why don�t you click �Flash Challengers� which is at the bottom of the Game page. You can play against other Neopians for high scores during a sixty minute period! If you play, you are given a chance to be awarded map pieces, and when you collect all the map pieces you can collect a rare prize. And sometimes, if you are lucky, that rare item could be a Paint Brush!
Referrals- You can actually refer people to neopets! And if you are able to refer a lot of friends and family members you could win a Paint Brush!
The Hidden Tower- In my opinion, buying a Paint Brush from the Hidden Tower is not worth it because you can buy these items from Neopians for a much cheaper price. But you can get the following avatars if you purchase an item from the hidden tower:
Plot Prizes- You have seen plots throughout Neopia. You may have even given up because the plots are �too hard�. But with a good plot guide and determination you could win rare prizes during the plot. And some these prizes can be Paint Brushes!
The Secret Laboratory Ray- This is the cheapest and most efficient way to get all of your pets painted. If you purchase all nine pieces of the map, it can be pretty expensive, around 400,000 neopoints. But I believe that it is totally worth it. The Secret Laboratory Ray can higher and lower stats, change the gender of your pet, and change the species and color of you pet. You can buy map pieces from player�s shops and from the trading post. If this isn�t enough for you then consider that there are some colors that you can only get from the lab ray such a MSP, robot, ice, and sponge!
Potions/Items:
Morphing Potion- Morphing potions have the ability to change your neopet�s species and color! And if you are very good at restocking then you might be able to get one from Kavara in her magic shop. But if you aren�t quick enough, I would suggest trying to get a morphing potion from the another user�s shop or the trading post. Remember, that some morphing potions are less expensive than the Paint Brush. For example, a Faerie Usul Morphing Porion is only 800,000 neopoints!
Transmogrification Potion- Everybody thinks Dr. Sloth is evil but he will sometimes hand you a transmogrification potion in a random event if you are lucky. And the potion will turn your pet into a mutant of the species stated on the potion!
Chia Vegetables and Fruits- If you feed your chia a �Magical Chia Pop� it could turn into a fruit or vegetable. Here is a list of the fruits and vegetables a chia can turn into:
� Plum
� Avocado
� Grape
� Peach
� Lime
� Durian
� Asparagus (Adam�s favorite! ?)
� Chokato
� Pineapple
� Tomato
� Lemon
� Gooseberry
� Pear
� Aubergine
� Apple
� Orange
� Blueberry
� Thornberry
� Pea
The Neopian Pound- Sometimes if rich users don�t need a painted neopet anymore they will pound it. And if you want the pet, you can write an application (or a petpage application) to say why you want the pet, what you will do for the pet, and why you deserve the pet. And if the user likes your application, he or she will give you the time for when he or she will pound the pet, and you can use the �>> Adopt-A-Pet Search Engine� to get the pet. There are a lot of guilds that have adoption agencies such as The Neopian Orphanage that have a lot of pets that you can apply for if you are a member of that guild!
The following, are pointers for saving for a Paint Brush:
� Spend as little neopoints as possible. When you need food, use the giant omelet, the giant jelly, and use neopet�s sponsor worlds for free food.
� Keep all your neopoints in your bank. This keeps them safe and you earn interest.
� Try your best!
