biggrin.gif I got it working!

I had to use OSX86 10.4.5, and install through VMWare (The OSX86 project site has more info on that). I have everything working well, except for wireless and sound.. though I'm working on those tongue.gif

(BTW: I used GParted (bootable Linux partition manager) to make a partition. Worked beautifully)

Lol, awesome, so now I can bother you on MSN with my questions tongue.gif

My mom went to the store now to pick up a new camcorder battery so we have 2 on Christmas, shes getting me the DVDR so I can do it smile.gif

whistling.gif I didn't even need a DVD-R. If you install through VMWare, you only need to mount the image.

I don't have Linux either. I used Gparted for the partitioning, but that's it.

Essentially, I did the following:

-Made my partition.
-Created a VMWare workstation and booted from the mounted CD image within the workstation.
-Mounted my partition, and installed OSX on it.
-Used the chain0 method to dual boot (look for it on the website)
-Booted into OSX.

Ah...I'll keep that in mind if I can't find the program I'm using to partition and boot.

I just burned the DVD to install. The VMWare method is extremely useful in my opinion, however, especially if you have no DVD Burner. Also, I used partitionmagic, but if you don't have it, I agree with dolphinbomb: gparted is FANTASTIC.

I use demon tools to emulate partitions its alot safer option because it doesnt mess about with your actual hard drive. Tis my opinion anyway...

You're weird, man? I haven't seen one post that made sense from you.

Anyways.. thanks for people who've been posting what they used to partition.. I have partition magic and acronis.. well, I installed them long time ago.. reformatted yesterday, so I'll have to reinstall soon and then I'll check how they actually work, like I should of done in the first place. (I just kind of gave up before)

GAHHH!

I was trying for three hours last night and one attempt this morning to make it work. I can't. When it installs it still says theres nothing on the partition and when I restart it doesn't boot like it's supposed to >_>

Thanks for this tip! I feel a lot safer doing it this way. Ive reformatted my computer because of human and hardware error about 4 times in 3 years. Ive learned to back up my data now tongue.gif
