Q: I don't like the (Powered by Invision Power Board) in the title of my page. Can I remove it?
A: Yes! Open your FTP client or file manager and navigate to sources/. Open "boards.php" and find "$cp = " (Powered by Invision Power Board)";" You can remove the text or change it to whatever you want.

It is not right to take that off. They charge a fee for copyright removal and if you dont buy it and take it off without permission, then that's basically stealing from them . That's not something I want to do.

Are you literally kidding back there? Of course you can remove it without buying a copyright removal.
The copyright is on the bottom of the page and as you can see in one the the source files, there is an actual warning in there.
However, there is no warning where "Powered by Invision Power Board" is and therefore you may feel free to remove / change it.
It's the same with vBulletin and I always removed this when I used IPB and never received a warning or a comment about it.
