Hi everyone... I've just noticed now, after all the freezing I've gone through, that training up a good pet can be a tedious task with the lab ray. I mean, it's not always safe and since you can't control its effects, how do you guys train so well? Just started a new account and finished up my lab ray and already lost 2 strength in my first week. Hope I can get tips outta this smile.gif

well buying codestones and training your pet at M.I.T.S, would be the easiest and secure way, buying Super Neggs (very expensive so it depends on your budget)

To start off I train with dubloons (pirate academy) until level 11 (that means 20 str, 20 def and 30 hp), it takes longer then with codestones but you save a nice chunk of neopoints, then I move on to using codestones (training school). If you want to speed up your training and can afford it you can do kitchen quests (not sure the average price, I think 15k is a reasonable amount to spend per quest. You can get stats/items/neopoints from the quest). If you want to lab your pet you have to raise your level and defence since labbing tends to boost only your strenght and hitpoints so constantly training defence while you can and levels when you can't would even out your stats. Or you can overtrain your defence before you start labbing

?... the gravedigging? tongue.gif

well, since it's been un-dug something that should be added:

as far as training goes, don't forget scratchcards... you can get levels from them as well! and that should help offset some of the shitty level-subtractions the lab ray can inflict wink.gif

Race to riches won't level up, you can only win from terror trove and above. There might be a cutoff on the highest level cards but I don't know. As for the spooky and desert cards, I don't know what you can get from those.

What I found with kitchen quests is that what level you are makes a difference on how much you should spend. So if you are level 5, you'll only be paying for 1 dubloon or codestone so you shouldn't pay more than 5k for the quest. Once you're like level 35, spend up to 8k, once you're level 55, 10k, then up to 15k once you're at level 85+.

pay not much more than a third of the value of codestone training your pet. when your et is at higher levels, the value of a stat point goes up and theoretically you could spend more and not be ripped off. when you gotta spend 4-5 codestones to train, it may be safe to spend upwards of 20k on a kitcgen quest.

Just assume a 1 in 3-5 hit rate on getting the stat boost from a quest and spend accordingly

Woah. I remember writing this thread.... a LOOONG time ago wink.gif.

Well, kitchen quests/scratch are all random chances. I think Academy/Mystery + Lab is still the way to go.

Heheh, out of curiosity, how is your pet training going now? Seeing as this was done a good few months ago tongue.gif.

Just went to attempt a kitchen quest as I didn't know you could get stat boosts from it. I needed 4 items to compelte it and the first one was going to cost me 6k...I think I will give that a tongue.gif miss

since I use 3 codestones to train, I'm willing to spend upwards of 12k on a quest ohmy.gif

very very soon it will be so much cheaper for me to do than the damn training 1we8.gif especially if the plot relate inflation on codestones continues.

Lol my pet is lvl 7 and 89 strength and 129 hit points.

that would mean i'd have to lvl him to 65 for him to actually use the Training school tongue.gif

I'll just stick with good old lab ray ^^

i have been zapping my right now snow jetsam with the lab ray and it keeps makin his movement, hit points and stregnth go up but never does anything with defense.....his level is way to low to train it to catch up....but i started training my krawk with the school and i have to say i never realized how expensive it can get.....also i never knew about kitchen quests.....might have to start doing them
