I've just finished reading it.. Oh. My. God.

The body count was astronomical though, wasn't it? A whole bunch of supporting characters as well as Moody, Dobby (not that anyone will miss him) Tonks, Lupin, Fred and Snape. I knew Snape had to be nice! I was so happy when it turned out that he only killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's orders! That made me smile amongst ALL THE PAIN. Hah. The ending battles will be ace in the film when it comes out. Though the random timeskip ending was a bit lame.

I'm such a nerd. But it was so good.

I'm annoyed that it was as cliche as it was. I mean, we all know it was supposed to be H/Hr the whole way I'm really disappointed that she didn't have the guts to break from tradition and kill a main character, like ron. I mean, it would solve all problems if he died. Harry and Hermione could have their kids, name one Ron even, and there wouldn't have to be that awkward... 'what do we do with the third' moment. I mean, we all know that Trios never work out. People by nature pair off, to mate, or live in asexual bliss or whatever. She should have known from the beginning that it wouldn't work with a trio. Thats why she promoted Ginny to main character in the sixth book (a fact which I am still pissed about) and made the number of main characters even. Such cliche.

It was always going to end like that, the entire thing is a very traditional story. Good had to prevail without major losses. Having said that, I'd swap Ron for Sirius and Hermione for Snape any day. The entire trio irritated me. I think the Marauder era is much more interesting.
I was upset JK didn't do more with Malfoy. You'd think, with it being such a cliched plot, that he'd redeem himself or something. Rather than whine, then 19 years later lose his hair.

it's really not that bad i really liked it and i admit i skipped alot of chapters just to see what was going to happen at the end i really wish i didn't

basically JR had two options, to kill harry or keep him alive, and even though many people were rooting that both voldemort AND harry dies but i think if JR did realy kill harry alot of people would be resentful and bitter... let's just face it most people like happy endings. that's why they are so cliche! but at least it wasn't like everybody made it alive so it's not too overdone. and anyway no matter how she writes it SOMEONE is going to complain about it in one way or another so it doesnt really matter everyone is entitled to their own opinioin
