Im typing from my PS3 right now. My PC refuses to let me online. Any suggestions? My PS3 is wireless, PC is wired. I posted an image in the thread 2 below this one that shows my problem, except doing what I did last time didn't work.

LOL That doesn't matter. I can access the internet with my PS3. It is my router that is the problem. It is a linksys WRT54G I think.

The Linksys is a wireless internet connection for the PS3 right? Ok did you try the repair option on the wireless network connection?

The only thing that ever works for me is shutting everything off, and unplugging for the night.

only thing I can think of atm is power cycling the router combined with right clicking your network device and pressing repair

/flushdns

I'm guessing it's Windows Caches, not your internet connection.

Try unplugging and replugging your router, use the repair command on you local connection. The simplest things usually work smile.gif

if the cache thing fixes it hawk, I will show you something that it will prevent some cache problems 1we8.gif But if it was a cache problem I would think that not ALL websites would be broken

Hawk, try unplugging your router and then plugging it back in. It usually works for me. You should ask Cataliste, he is like the internet GOD.

i doubt its the router, if your PS3 works, im almost positive its a windows based problem

go into your registry to here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNSCache\Parameters

make a new dword value called "NegativeCacheTime" and put the value as 0

restart

then

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Also, if you tweak your services

start>run>services.msc and make sure you DIDNT disable "DNS Client", it should be automatically starting, and enabled

worth a try, if not you can try somethin else

Apparently, you're supposed to create it.

Try booting in safe mode and flushing the dns.

Is it all internet you can't visit or just specific sites? Try typing in a site you've never visited before.

If that doesn't work, type 'netsh winsock' reset in command prompt.
