Eh, I'd never get gauges personally -- permanently disfiguring your ears (not including plastic surgery) doesn't seem like too hot of an idea to me.

Just my ears and even then I didn't get it till I was 15 on the day of prom To this day my earrings are my favorite accessory especially since I got cute little pink fishy ones

I used to have my ear pieced, it got infected, hurt like a bitch to take out.

My ears and that's all I've ever wanted I don't think piecings suit most guys to be honest. I really dislike any facial ones (excluding ears though) on any sex...

What is this gauge thing you speak of... I don't get it

I'm pretty sure what they're talking about it the discs that you put in your ears, that use a very large hole, instead of just a pin.

These piercings were originally used to heighten sexual pleasure. A lot of people still use them for such, whereas others are trendwhores.
In fact, I'd say that in modern society, they're the only piercings that people have for other than purely aesthetic reasons.

Gauges are the size of the jewelry. The smaller the number, the bigger the piece. Needless to say, 0 is pretty big chunk of metal/plastic/what-have-you.

LOL. I have both nipples pierced, my earlobes, and the cartilage of my left ear. I pierced my own bellybutton when I was like 15, and decided I hated it, so I still have this funny little scar over the top of my navel.
I also have a small Smashing Pumpkins tattoo in between my shoulder blades. While on the topic of body modification may as well include tattoos! I want some phoenix feathers on the top of my foot but I'm still iffy on it.

you must realize though at the bottom of those earrings is his ear... they are lodged inside his earlobe... it's not hanging.. it's inside of it... the earlobe is stretched out so that those can fit inside...

Pretty much it, but that's a kind of extreme example because of the size of them.



I can't find a picture of them on a person, but that's a more common size.
Size it down in your head, cause that's not lifesize. ;D
