How does my attitude affect anything? I can't do shit for this site. I can't program, I can't make graphics, I can't moderate (Effectively. Reports take too much time to get to dry.gif), how does my attitude cause problems? All I can do is sit here, whine, bitch, whatever. I guess that could be a bit distracting for the staff, but if they could deal with situations some times. rolleyes.gif

I don't care if the admins have social lives. Thats great, let them have them. Its just that they say they will do this and that, and it doesn't happen. Its just, frustrating, I guess.

not yours individually. But if everyone held that attitude nothing would get done, is what I mean.
Well.. whatever, it certainly doesn't help tongue.gif

It would cause too much friction on the board really.
And pessimism = self created obstacle tongue.gif

Its not really that pessimistic, its more of a realist's view on the subject. blink.gif

i don't see a problem with the current admins really, the site is not doing great because the members aren't putting in effort. the site is dependent on the community, the members for the actvity, the programmers for the neopets programs interest and so on and so forth.

the 4 week admin trial seems kind of stupid, to determine how the person is really doing it'd prolly end up taking months...which kind of defeats the purpose of a "trial" status.

Well they've admitted to being behind on work and understaffed. It is up to the members, but having active and productive adminstration always promotes and helps development of a community. And there are no more programmers left sad.gif

12 week trial then? Idk i pulled that number out of my ass, I'm sure the admins would pick a better number if they do decide to adapt this. My reasoning was that, if after 4 months they do fine, they'll just be re-elected. And because of this, they'll always work to the best of their ability.

Great Concept Bad idea. Admins must be suited for IPB 2.3 Admin Cp which i must say owns IPB 1.3 and 2.0! any day. but most likely give super mods trial admin - ship?

I like the idea of the trial mod thing, but I don't think the admin one is much of a good idea - if it were up to the public it would be a simple popularity contest, as with all public elections... However, proper public elections have much more of a widespread audience who don't actually know the candidate..

We had Trial mods and shit like that back in the day, wasn't too bad I guess.

And if I could be arsed to scroll back up and quote you hawk, I'd put a QFE on your post.

I'm actually not for trial anything. I don't think we're understaffed at all to be honest, just that those who are staffed don't have enough time to dedicate to their specific duties. I know Brandon is an admin, but he has openly admitted to being a 'der der' when it comes to the coding aspect of Codex. Then we usually have SL and Hydro left to do all the code work because Noit is always praising PHP or too busy with his grades. Not saying its a bad thing, just that it's hard for 2 people to manage time efficiently between college and a full-time voluntary commitment.

And there are times where no staff members are on. rolleyes.gif I've pointed it out in the past, but there isn't much you can do about it.

Im missing why there absolutely must be a staff member on at all times...It would definitely be nice but it's not like you guys need constant supervision...or do you? ohmy.gif

No we don't need staff at all times, its just that when situations do arise, and nobody intervenes for over an hour, it sucks. rolleyes.gif It also results in me getting more warnings than I feel I deserve because I was never told to knock it off. rolleyes.gif

No problem. Oh, and I have to serve a suspension before I can even begin to argue my case on why I got more warns than I deserve. That also pisses me off.
