Now that we are finally getting some battledome action in the plot, I've seen a lot of people asking questions about levels, good weapons, and talk about raising certain stats. I'm going to tell you the basics and defuse any of the common misconceptions about the battledome and how the battledome plots are set up.

--------------------------------------
Training
--------------------------------------

Training your pet is a must but how much should you train and what should you work on? Having a pet with well-rounded stats is always a good way to go but if you have a lab rat then that can be kind of hard to do. You may also be wonder why people keep switching between the Island Training School (ITS) and the Swash Buckling Academy (SBA). Some people choose one because it's cheaper and some choose one because it takes less time. I can't remember which ones are cheaper at the moment, but to see which will be cheaper, check the shop wiz for prices.

The lab is another way to raise levels but the problem with that is it likes to raise your strength and HP while really killing your lvl and defense. You could always raise those using the training schools but if you continue to use the lab while doing so you're basically throwing your NPs away.

Other ways to raise your lvl are through RE fairy quests. These are good if you only have one pet but if you have multiple pets, it's not so good because the pet the fairy grants the blessing to is random. I'll remind you that Earth fairy quests only bloat your pets and are basically not worth it. Air Fairy quests increase a speed, which is only good if you plan to use BD equipment that requires a certain stat lvl (will get to that latter.) Also, the fire faerie requests clothes and that means she's now requesting wearable clothes too, which can get quit expensive. (If they fixed this, please let me know.)

A random event raises your pets lvl but don't count on it. You can also visit Coltzans' shrine to raise one of your pet stats at a given time or get dubloons:

Speed: Every fifth second
Defense: Every tenth second
Strength: Every thirty minutes
Endurance: Every hour
Level: Every two hours
Burnt Food: 11:00 - 12:00 NST
Dubloons: 55 seconds past the minute

Kitchen Quests and Snow Fairy Quests can also raise your active pets stats but it's random and can get pretty expensive.

Fairy Abilities (ability levels can be increase or decreased at the wheel of excitement, lvls can't go under lvl 1) see this guide:
http://www.neocodex....ide-t75063.html

Weapon levels, I don't think they have made a way for you to increase the levels yet but if anyone knows how to then feel free to tell me.

--------------------------------------
What are good stats?
--------------------------------------

Pets with unbelievable stats in the thousands are probably just trying to show off. Also, the level 50 berserk is kind of over-rated and a strong pet ability can work just as well. To get an idea as to why, read this article:

http://idb.finalhit....a...les&a_id=75

It also gives you an idea on how beating the plots final boss works.

It's always nice to have well rounded pet stats but if you have a lab rat then you'll have some whacky stats, which is okay. My pet stats are:

Lvl: 5
Strength: 95
Defense: 30
HP: 315
(Stats altered)

Yet I can still hold my own in the battledome. How? A good weapon set. Also note that you don't have to have a massive amount of hit points either. If you have good defense then you can get by with hit points as low as the 100's. Basically, you wanna focus on your offense and defense.

--------------------------------------
What the best weapons?
--------------------------------------

First of all, there's no point in spending millions on a set if you don't have decent stats to back it up. Also note that some weapons are worth the NPs you spent on them. You should go for weapons that have a minimum of 5-7 icons. This is just an idea for beginners.

You should try to have:
A healer
A freezer
A stealer (optional?)
A bomb (optional?)
A multi-function weapon
A defense weapon
And of course an offensive weapon

A popular bomb is the Honey Potion but if you don't have the 800K to spend on one or just can't seem to get the that required lvl in Illusen's quest, you can go for Illusens earth potion, which is cheaper but not as effective.

A good healer would be the greater healing scroll, which many people use since the next best thing is in the millions range. Or you can get a species healer, depending on if there's a healer for your species of pet or if you're willing to transform it.

For a freezing weapon you should look into getting a rainbow or black frost cannons. For something cheaper you can get the snowglobe staff but it's breakable.

A stealer that I like is the purple stick hand. If you'd like a 100% stealer you can try for the Heavy Robe of Thievery but this item requires you to have certain stats. To use it you must have a speed of 201 and 68 knowledge.

Now a multi-functional item is how it sounds. The scarab ring is a popular one that both attacks and defends.

A popular defensive weapon is the Leaf Shield

For offensive weapons it varies but I've seen Obsidian dagger suggested a lot.

I also should mention species weapons. Not all species weapons are created equal, some are actually quite excellent and should be a consideration if you're not using the lab.

For different ideas on what weapons to buy, "upgrades" to your current weapons and to see what different weapons do, check out: http://idb.finalhit.org/

--------------------------------------
How do plot battles work?
--------------------------------------
Basically, each time you beat one of the opponents you gain more points, not sure how many. The harder the opponent the more points you get.

For the boss, if you didn't read the article earlier posted, you basically fight him. Each time you fight him, you will most likely lose after one round but with each fight regardless the boss will lose one hit point. Many people battle him at once so his hit points decrease rather rapidly (good thing the final boss has a ton.) Each fight against him will give you points. When he finally gets down to 0 hit points the battle is won. Also, the last person who hits him, I think they get extra points. Anyways, that's vaguely how I recall it. Again read this article to get a better idea:
http://idb.finalhit....a...les&a_id=75

--------------------------------------

Well, if you have any questions or comments feel free to post or PM. I'm glad to give out pointers and such for each individual, just ask for my IM via PM and I'll talk it out or what have you. Anyhow, there are many different opinions and ideas but these are the basics that I have learned over the years.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE PLOT! MAY YOUR TROHIES BE SHINEY AND YOUR PRIZES BE GRAND. happy.gif

Ah, yeah. I was trying to remember which was cheaper at what levels but it's been a long time since I've trained. Lab pet and all.

Coltzan's Shrine don't add the stats by time anymore, now it's all random..but it's a great guide nonetheless.

Ah, I think I get it. Alright, when you go the shrine and you want to get the shrine times right, click the approach the shrine button a second or two before the actual time you want. See if that works.

I'm pretty sure stats are random now. Most of the guides you find online are years old and outdated.
