Ok, Some of you know that a few months ago I co-owned a site named Icyneo. The owner decided he didn't have enough money to pay for it so he ended up closing it. Of course, we over-looked 1 option. Godaddy gives 1 free credit for free hosting when you buy a domain. Problem is, their banners destroy half of IPB. After hours of Working with IPS we figured out we should never use godaddy.

Basically what I'm asking is for free hosting site that doesn't suck. I have the domain already.

Oh and it needs to have FTP, MySQL and of course PHP.

Right now I'm working with a couple people to try and get free hosting, but I want to get the site up fast so I need more then one just in case the first one doesn't work out. Also trying to work with godaddy to have a different banner place on the site.

This is my last of many attempts to get the site back up.

In my experience, finding a site that gives you free hosting as well as ftp, mysql and php is not easy. There was a deal 1&1 was doing years ago where they gave you three years of free hosting which offered all those. Actually on that plan was where codex started as I was too young to have a credit card and therefore was not able to make any purchases such as hosting online.

If you can, I would find some way to get some money online and store it with paypal. You can then find a host which accepts paypal and pay that way. This would be much easier in my opinion. Hostgator accepts paypal and that's who we are hosted on. If you go with them, could you kindly use my referral link?

Good luck with this smile.gif.

If you want great hosting with all that you want as mentioned above plus more! Simply apply at 'Jamroll.net'. It's really great hosting and it just costs like $5 get much more bandwidth and access to their servers. You don't have to though, it can be free in the end. biggrin.gif

A site that at this point might never be made. We aren't even sure if we plan on keeping the same domain, or if it will be based off of the same things as last time. Theres really not that great of a chance of us getting the site up. Only reason I'm trying again is because I have 2 IPB licenses that are just sitting there.

Toxic-Snipe - Thanks biggrin.gif. Seems to be working decently.

Edit: Nvm. Its really slow.

Hostsnake sucks.

I like JumpLine and DigitalSpace.

They give you one year free, just use a prepaid credit card wink.gif

You must click the link provided to redeem the one year free.

Hostsnake uses "Safe mode" which destroys the skin of IPB.

And doesn't allow vBulletin to function.

You have to pay for a "platinum" or something account.

My thoughts exactly. I was about to come in and see if I could figure out why we were helping (despite being generally nice people, that's besides the point in this instance).

Oh I'm sorry. tongue.gif I didn't even realise that this site was a competing site until you mentioned it. tongue.gif It even says Neo in it! whistling.gif

Though the site I posted will help everyone. tongue.gif

Which is why Jamroll will add bandwidth, space, etc, as well as turn OFF Safe Mode to allow the skins and more functionality.

Jamroll has safe mode on for free hosting

So that site fails also.

Like I said before, without paying, I highly doubt there will be many sites which will give you what you are looking for for free. It's just how it is sad.gif. I'm sorry sad.gif.

Edit 2: Uploaded IPB. Best free host ever biggrin.gif

Byethost sucks a large one.
It might not go down often, but expect 2-3 week downtimes when it does.

I concur with Shadiel. I've had EXTREMELY bad customer support service from them, (Basically, non-existant) so be prepared for some rough spots.

Never use byethost, your site will be down within a week. They get hacked every few days because of their "vista panel", which is like a VERY old version cpanel.

I was able to come up with some money.

I need to find a host that costs less then $6 per month (Godaddy is around there). And it needs to have cpanel (Reason I dont want to use godaddy, but will if I have to).

I believe hostgator has such a plan but you must pay yearly and not monthly.

Check the referral link in my sig tongue.gif.

Yeah. I have most of it in spoilers though. I have sigs turned off though but you can check sigs by going to the profile and going to the signature tab tongue.gif.
