Many people use proxy sites to circumvent a school or work filter but in my experience many of these proxy websites are blocked by the filters. You can also try using the IP address of the site to get past the filter but this also can be blocked and when it isn't, it normally takes you to the host and not the website you are looking for. This is why I use Gpass which is a fast proxy program that uses Tor to bypass filters and hide your IP address. It works like a proxy site except it is much faster and isn't blocked by the filter because you are using it through a usb drive, or even straight off the hard drive if you can save things there. Since this isn't a website, the website filter won't block it.

Instructions:
1. Download Gpass.
2. Save to a USB or some other kind of device that you can transfer to the computer you will be using
3. Once on the computer, start up the .exe file and choose the program/browser you are using.
4 You are now past the filter and can go wherever you want. If it becomes somewhat slow, just go back to the program and change the server you are using.

This is what I use to hide my IP while using my spare accounts on neopets and I also use this for school. You can use it for your browser or even for the programs from this website. Try it out!

Yea Gpass is a nice proxy. I don't think it shows picture though unless you buy it or something right?

Shows picture? So far it has worked fine for me without buying anything. I'm not sure what you mean.

Wouldn't that keep you from running/installing games? That would suck anyway though.

I haven't tried the above mentioned circumvention tool, but in the case that it does not work, here is a handy tutorial I have used before that has bypassed content filters consistently.

I think that was the main point... tongue.gif

It was only on the school computers, not ours..

Here's my experience thus far gaining access over my school's computer (stupid computer applications class d'oh)

At my school the Internet Explorer's "Save" is blocked but I installed Firefox by choosing "Run" instead of "Save."
I didn't install to Program Files which I apparently do not have access to.
To access Windows Explorer, I double-clicked the "Programs" from the Start Menu.
Then I google'd GPass and download some older version off some other unblocked site because the official GPass site is blocked.
I updated GPass.

Status: School Firewall bypass & I have Firefox cool.gif .

Then I started to play around. Command prompt was blocked (Even through a BAT file). So was Run (Windows + R). A lot of folders like WINDOWS was hidden not allowing me to even get to regedit.exe.
I downloaded xplorer² Lite. I could now access the WINDOWS folder (as well as the Recycle Bin to erase traces of files that I had hastily normally deleted instead of with "Shift+Delete")
regedit.exe was still blocked ("Registry Editing has been disabled by your administrator")
I also tried to get a working command prompt by downloading Console but that did not work either ("The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator")
I downloaded Registry Workshop (but haven't had a chance to try it out yet - I assume it'll work because CCleaner was able to scan for registry errors and fix them up meaning other applications have Registry key read/delete access...we'll see about write access)

If Registry Workshop works I'll do the following:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
I'll edit the DisableCMD and DisableRegistryTools keys' values to 0

Then I'll use my new found powers to see if I can't gain admin privileges...somehow

Sounds like a good idea. I'm not familiar enough with the registry to do anything to it without exploding my computer. I need to research that some because I had an admin account until our teacher moved all the computers around. Now I'm back as a student.
