If You Are sick that nobody joins your guild anymore. If you think that your Guild is lame and not successful. Here are some Few easy Steps to make a Great Guild:

Step 1: A Theme

First thing you'll need for a good guild is a Theme. Try Choosing a popular Theme that people will like. (How to find a popular theme? Pop into the neoboards and see what the neopians are instersted in) When you Choose a theme Stick to it. (E.g. Don't say that the theme of the Guild is Avatar Items Lending and then you talk about movies)

Some Popular Themes:

~ Avatar Collectors Guild (For Lending Avatar items or Figuring out how to get the New Avatars)

~ Movie Guilds (Try to pick some popular movies Like Harry Potter Or Pirates of the Carribean...Some people even like Disney or anime guilds)

~ Adoption Guild (LOTS AND LOTS Of Neopians search for an easy way to adopt painted pets)

~ Contest Guild (Make Contests and Percious Prizes)

Step 2: A Name

After You have chosen a theme it shall be easy to choose a name. But go with short names but effective ones. Don't Do long or lame names. They won't appeal to guildless people.

Tips to Choose a good name:

~ Lots of guilds choose "Neo<Whatever>" as their guilds name. Avoid it It's not catchy Anymore. E.g. "NeoPotter, NeoAvatars" (It's Kind of Lame)

~ Try to convert normal names to catchy ones.

~ Some people like some words as "Dreams , Memories , Stardust" You get the point! Although Some people find these words lame!

Step 3: Description

Do NOT forget the Description. It's VERY Important. Some people search for certain guilds with certian activities. Try to Express the guild as much as you can in the description and again try to make a catchy one.

Tips for a good Description:

~ Do NOT put in the description "Plz Join My Guild" Or "The title explains it all"!

~ Some Descriptions like "<Name of Guild> where dreams come true" Some people find this catchy but it's common.

Step 4: A Layout

This step is a MUST. Guilds without layouts looks lame and propably won't get much members. A good layout will attract lots of members. A Poor layout won't get much members. Since It's the first thing you see when you visit the guilds is the layout. Some people just close the window if the don't like the layout without even looking at the guild so 'Make a Good layout'

Tips for a good layout:

~ It's not prefered to use a pre-made layout.

~ If you aren't good at graphics and codes check out the tutorials.

~ If you still can't handle the layout with checking the tutorials do this: You don't have to be the one making the layout you can make a member contest about the best layout. Or just choose someone who makes good layouts to make you one.

~ Change the layout AT LEAST every month so the members won't get bored of it and change the guild

Step 5: Make a webbie for your guild

This step isn't necessary but it's preferable. Make a website with some guides/dailyupdates/etc.
You can make a free website at: http://newaccounts.freewebs.com/Signup/signup2Z.jsp

Step 6: Attract the Members

Lots of people on neopets want Free items and Np. Offer that in your guild. Make Random Give-aways or Even monthly guild freebies.

Tips:

~ Choose a Member each month to give an expensive item e.g. a Negg or a piece of the lab map. So members would stick to the guild so if they had the chance to take the give-away.

~ If you can't afford the give-aways. Ask some guild members to donate. Set a Prize from the donations.

Step 7: Make Activities

Make Some activities in the guild to keep it active. Something fun that will keep the members. Like contests with prizes , giveaways or adoption center.

Tips:

~ Take some contests ideas from neopets E.g. " Caption contests or Mystery Picture"

~ Ask some people of the from the Guild Council to help you making contests.

~ For the Adoption center try to raise money from the guild and get the lap ray in a side account and Zap some pets.

~ Update contests every week or every 2 weeks so members won't get bored.

Step 8: Advertise

If you don't advertise for your guild. People might never know about it. So Make sure to Advertise.

Tips for Advertising:

~ Go to the neoboards and post about your guild you'll find Tons of guildless members there.

~ Advertise for your guild in your siggy.

~ Make Buttons and banners for your guild. Ask the members to put it in their Shop, user lookup or Petpage.

~ Make Advertising contests.

Just thought I'd mention, contests and asking for donations for the purpose of giveaways for guild members are in fact against the rules and will get you frozen if you're obvious about it.

The guide it pretty good with some good tips, although there's a few contradictions in there, like saying 'Some people like: X, Y and Z. But others think they're lame'. It sorta defeats the purpose of saying something if it's there's half a chance people will hate it, and half a chance, they'll love it tongue.gif

Good enough for me, I'll deem it guide worthy smile.gif

Oh Thanks. And Really it is against the rules? I mean lots of guilds make that o.O;
