Private trackers? Why would you even bother? Public trackers take care of everything I need

Private trackers tend to be a bit faster then public ones. I like public ones better for the most part though as well.

Any other benefits from demonoid other than speed? Public ones are most of the time reliable and fast enough for my standards.

Private trackers keep an internal record on each account what torrents you have downloaded, don't they? This could be incriminating if the tracker was ever taken over by the feds (ie. the servers raided). If you use a public tracker, they can't really track what torrents you have been downloading other than by searching by IP address (as you aren't associated with an account).

They keep track of how much you have downloaded, but I don't believe they actually keep track of what you specific files you did download.
