Actually, the only way to not get a virus is to destroy your computer and never get another one, ever.

According to bill gates he has never had a virus because he knows "how to change windows and I.E so they're not virus havesters". Hmm I don't think I quoted him right there.

I haven't had one in four years but its not due to any program. When I want to download something I know will be stupid (program crack/porn) I do it on a useless old computer, clean out the crap, and transfer over the clean file. Don't throw away your 5 year old computer that is slow but still functions. It serves a most valuable purpose.
