Well it probably wouldn't happen, but what if the guy tried hitting on me? I just wouldn't want to deal with that shit.

If he was gay, he would have done so prior.

Gay men aren't out to be predators. At least not any more than heterosexuals. I suspect one of my friends could be gay, but I don't really care either way.

So I take it you're not friends with any unattractive girls, then.
You must be a very sexy man to be able to assume that any gay guys you spend time with would want to jump your bones.

QUOTE (Josh @ Jan 30 2009, 03:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't understand how being born of unmarried parents has to do with anything related to that.

A contemporary, colloquial definition would be more appropriate.

No, Josh, I'm smart enough to see that you're attempting to equivocate my use of contemporary defintions with the use of slang, the latter of which would appear to undermine my intellectual position.

Is there a guidebook for this? He could just as easily tell me that he's gay, then hit on me sometime later. Like I said, it probably wouldn't happen and I would feel uncomfortable around them.

There's a complete difference here. Morally, I'd rather be with unnattractive girls then gay guys, and besides, a paperbag over the face never hurts? tongue.gif

And you're taking this completely out of context, I think I'm alright, but I never said they were jumping out at me. Did I offend you or what? I pretty much made a joke post and you're grinding me.

I know if I was gay, I'd totally swing for Jake. laugh.gif No question about who'd wear the pants at least.

Edit: In seriousness Jake, if he was a real friend, I'd imagine he would respect your sexual preference enough to not hit on you.

And I'm smart enough to know that you're trying to use your extensive vocabulary to give a more comprehensive definition to something which can be simplified down to one word, of which I already stated, and of which you seem to keep denying.

Sacrificing concision in favour of precision is perfectly acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

Most likely true, but it would still be majorly akward, especially when you get to those times where you accidentally hit your friends balls etc.

Your first paragraph is what's known as "shifting the goalposts". You first said it would be weird in case he tried to hit on you.
When it was pointed out that this was an illogical position, you've shifted to a moral standpoint, with no justification as to why homosexual behaviours are immoral.

I'm not taking it out of context, I'm following the run of your argument to point out its inherent absurdity.
Joke posts don't belong in the debating section.

I don't think even a gay person would take getting hit in the balls as a come on. tongue.gif

Although I did see a documentary one time where some guy was into cheese grater + penis, so yeah...

I hate when people say "WHAT IF HE HITS ON ME?" Do you not have friends who know what you're into or know how to respect your boundaries? If a friend knows you're not gay, he probably is not going to hit on you. The fact that you put yourself so high up that you think just because someone is gay, they're going to hit on you, is just as bad.

It should be, if simplifying it loses the point that I was making.

Besides which, my original post wasn't even addressed to you, so I don't really have to satisfy your stringent criteria.

More awkward than accidentally touching a female friend's breast?

Well, it's what it was, I'm sorry it happened big shot. I don't have anything to back it up, I just wouldn't like them as friends.

rofl nice. I make one small post and you guys take it as if I offended a whole gay community. I'm suggesting that because that's one of the main reason, I never suggested I was godly or some shit.

No it isn't, because no matter how akward it was, I would still end up laughing about it after. Nothing is funny about a guy touching my gonads. (sp?)

Well I do believe the point you were making was based off the offensive interpretation of that word, which happens to be slang. You just choose to use a more "precise" literary description of what you were doing, whereas I simplified it down to a more contemporary word, slang.

Besides, you didn't even have to respond to my post.

True.

You don't have any coherent reasoning behind your opinon? At all?
Then perhaps you should consider changing it.

Isn't that the same regardless of whether your friend is gay or not, then, if nothing is funny about a guy touching your gonads?

Why would I change it? I would only have negative opinions about my other choice.

Generally, yes. But then the whole 'hitting on me' part comes into the situation. Did he do it on purpose or by accident? inb4 thinking highly of self.

Never really pointed out the stereotype here, said what I needed to say about that so I wont comment anymore about it.

There is the chance they could all be gay obviously, they're all so random it's almost impossible to tell though. But I would wish that I was only surrounded by one 'type', unless if they were lesbians. /inb4 hypocrites etc.

2) Less competition because you always here the gay men are the best/taken.

But if a friend told me he was gay, our friendship would end there because IMO, it would be way too weird.

Look dude, I was a god-praising fag basher until about '02 or '03, and 7 some odd years later all of my friends are gay. That part of their lives I couldn't give two shits about because theyre my friends and i wouldnt be alive with out them.

Lets assume homosexuality is a choice or an acquired taste or some bullshit like that. Even in that case, are you gonna let a bro down because he fucks guys? That's kinda fucked up to disown a friend over something so minor as a technicality as to who sucks your prick. Either way, you need to get release and get laid, so who gives a shit if your friend likes it a bit differently? I'm sure if it were a lesbian you wouldn't give a shit but she has just as much right to disown you for having a dick and "thats just awkward, talking to someone with different equiment from what i like."
