Make sure you backup your registry before applying!
[Able to slipstream in nLite]

Now uploaded, change extension of the tweak.txt file to .reg to apply.

(If you can't change your extension, you need to open a folder, go to tools> "folder options" > Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types")

EDIT: Re-Uploaded, in a .zip since it wouldn't let me upload just a text file.

How big of a performance gain does this result in?

Probably pretty decent on a low-end computer

For higher end computer its more for just snappiness, convenience, and preference.

I noticed I had to restart to see many of the effects.

I back up my registry by making a system restore point right?

Eh well, that probably includes backing up your registry, but a faster/easier way is to:

Open Regedit > File > Export

When you do that make sure the "export range" is set to all

Can't you just delete the registry key if it fucks something up?

Not that I know of...... because the values its changing are already in the registry, all its doing is changing it from the default to set value.

Might tweak programs like Registry Mechanic set it back if I run it?

Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have this file to re-upload? It's not letting me download it now. :/

[#10173] We could not find the attachment you were attempting to view.

Yup, sorry, reuploaded :).

I'm sure this happened when the board was upgraded, probably lost some/all of the attachments.

Solid list. I took a glance through and some of those are pretty important... and most of us are too lazy to do them manually.

If I still ran XP I'd be on top of this.

This is nice.

Fixed up my new (used) laptop with it and things are so much holier (and faster~) now. Thank you. (:
