So who's bringin the guns in this country? (Hmm?)
I couldn't sneak a plastic pellet gun through customs over in London
And last week, I seen a Schwarzaneggar movie
where he's shootin all sorts of these motherfuckers with a uzi
I sees three little kids, up in the front row,
screamin "Go," with their 17-year-old Uncle
I'm like, "Guidance - ain't they got the same moms and dads
who got mad when I asked if they liked violence?"
And told me that my tape taught 'em to swear
What about the make-up you allow your 12-year-old daughter to wear?
(Hmm?) So tell me that your son doesn't know any cuss words
when his bus driver's screamin at him, fuckin him up worse
("Go sit the fuck down, you little fuckin prick!")
And fuck was the first word I ever learned
up in the third grade, flippin the gym teacher the bird (Look!)
So read up, about how I used to get beat up
peed on, be on free lunch, and change school every 3 months
My life's like kinda what my wife's like (what?)
Fucked up after I beat her fuckin ass every night, Ike
So how much easier would life be
if 19 million motherfuckers grew to be just like me?
-"Who knew" Eminem

This song came out in 2000.
The song makes drug, racial, sexual, homosexual, rape, domestic violence references.
Makes fun of Tina turner getting beaten, Columbine, the Clinton blowjob.

It's only one of eminem's hits.
Around 2000 movies like "The boondock saints" were being taken out of theaters for being to violent. Eminem has been sued, arrested, jailed, jumped, shot at, and he still don't give a fuck.
In 2009 there are guys like Micky Avalon and dirt nasty, but neither of them will achieve the fame that eminem had.

The point i'm getting at is Eminem has been the most Rock and Roll we have seen in a long ass time. Yeah he does hip hop, but who else tested boundaries in the 2000's and late 90's?

Disagree?

(and no kitsune or who else wants to come trash slim shady cause he "slaps a bitch and say faggot" i am not supporting Marshal I'm just saying he is rock and roll)

Oh yeah and......

Are you trying to debate rather Eminem has pushed the musical limits?

Eminem hasn't been doing anything new. Your analysis is far too narrow:

The entire hip-hop industry itself is a voice of resistance because all which make it are of proletarian or more often lumpenproletarian (and formerly human cattle) descent, this of course not limiting itself to blacks but poor whites such as Eminem as well (only somewhat relevant, but the Mathers' name denotes his ancestry is also one of slavery)

These people having felt the short end of the capitalist stick all their lives now have all to tell, so you automatically have that "fuck the police" mentality translated from accumulation of personal experience in growing up in the drug-induced lower strata of the socioeconomic hierarchy, facing brutalization, racialism and marginalization by those supposedly sent to "protect and serve," yet have done anything but for these people.

If you listen to these you'll get a better idea of my point (for some reason I've sorted it alphabetically):

Chamillionaire - Hip Hop Police
"If you are not guilty of anything then why did you run? / 'Cause you the police and plus I saw you cockin' your gun!"

Chamillionaire - Ridin' Dirty
"You can't arrest me plus you can't sue, this a message to the laws tellin them WE HATE YOU."

Dead Prez - Food Clothes and Shelter
"Can't afford the boomin prices...it's economic crisis, life is a sacrifice, I'm down to my last bag of rice...
They forcin us to live like laboratory mice, like fuckin laboratory mice that's right"

Dead Prez - Hell Yeah
"If you claim it gangsta then bang on the system and show that you ready to ride.
'till we get our freedom, we've got to get over, please steady on the grind"

Dead Prez - PolitriKKKs
"Everyday everywhere we go they be talkin' bout "Who you gon' vote for?"
Got a black man runnin' but if he get in who he gon' work for. Democrats and Republicans,
Two sides of the same coin, either way it's whiet power, same system, just changed form."

The Game ft Lil Wayne - My Life
For those unknowing, this song's about the murder of unarmed Sean Bell by three plaineclothed officers on his wedding day

The Game - 911 is a Joke
"Ruthless, knock a mothafuckin' cop toothless, paybacks a bitch for that Rodney King shit"

Ice Cube - Gangster Rap Made Me Do It
"I'm as raw as a dirty needle, choke an eagle just to feed all my people" (amazing symbolism)

NWA - Fuck the police
"Fuck tha police coming straight from the underground, young nigga got it bad 'cause I'm brown"

Young Buck - Fuck the Police
"They'll never take me alive I ain't goin' back to jail, the money lookin' good I got dope to sell
Fuck the police, nigga fuck the police, Fuck the police, nigga fuck the police"
(Chorus)

Young Buck - I'm Out Here
"We all got guns and so do Dick Cheney"
"Back then we was ridin' and lootin', you lookin' at the 2000 Huey P Newton!" (Newton, leader of the socialist Black Panthers)

Young Buck - It's Not Okay
"They say we ain't shit 'cause we claimin' the corner; well sorry you ain't lived where I live your honour"
"The Feds don't care look what they did to drama, and what they gon' do if we elect Obama"

Young Buck - Shorty Wanna Ride [Video]
Features Young Buck running from the police, breaking into top secret doors of capitalists, illuminati meeting

Anyway, there's far more, but that's enough. My point however is compare this to rock music (which often time can be a music of resistance but arguably not nearly as effective) whose mainstream contemporaries are currently suburbanites or anybody priveleged enough to be able to purchase guitars/bass/drum sets, usually having faced minimal persecution, and you've a steep contrast in the lyrical content. For comparison:

Avenged Sevenfold - Critical Acclaim
"They've never contributed a fucking thing to the country they love to criticize"

Ok.
NWA said Fuck the Police. WOW.
Did NWA find a way to get even 11 year old white girls to buy his albums?
Were churches banning the usage of the name Ice Cube(Ice-T is more out than ice cube)
NWA got a few white kids and other blacks uppity.
Once again I point out that Eminem is like Happy Gilmore, he brought a whole new demographic around. I myself was a convert. I was like 9 or 10 when the slim shady LP came out. I never liked rap before then. I liked alternative, rock, and some country. I only liked eminem. My girlfriend has said like 20 cusswords the entire time I have met her. Almost all of them were her singing along to eminem songs. They are the only rap words she knows. And she has been listening to him since she was in like 6th grade.

I remember kids having eminem t-shirts and stuff.
He rocked white america as a whole way more than NWA or Young Buck(I woulda went with like Ja Rule over young buck)

... You're missing the point, it's not limited to Eminem, it's everywhere in Hip-Hop.

And you don't know shit about hip-hop if you'd pick Ja over Buck, whackass. Get off Em's dick and go back to Avenged Sevenfold.

Oh and welcome back to Debate Chat.

I would pick Ja over Buck aswell
but that's just me

I'm surprised no one has named Nas in this debate.

"People afraid of criticism
But I always put myself in a sacrificial position
They been know I ain't just rappin for fame
I got my old homie hasslin to father askin for chains
Yep, I get it cash up, this paper don't matter
They see me from skinny to fatter, when I rap about war
They got a tendency to scatter, they ain't my backup no more
So now my enemies are at my front door
Cause anytime we mention our condition, our history or existence
They callin it reverse racism
Still to this day the streets torn - my brother Jung'
I'll always have a seat for him - not behind me, beside me
You'll always know where to find me
They say the close ones will hurt you
So let's keep a small circle
On the road to riches and diamond rings
In the land of the blind, the man with one eye is the king"

Im missing the point?
I made the thread....
The point we are debating is wether or not Eminem has been the most rock we have seen in a long time.
Some how you tried to make it about rappers who are out to kill the white capitalist the most.
Dude Im white. and apparently a capitalist. Why would I want to argue over who wants to kill me the most?

And for the record.
I am not on slims dick. cause ITS MURDER INC. NIGGA.

Ha Ha seriously, I think Ja Rule wins this competition. I first heard Ja Rule on a friends cd that was stuck in my moms car when i was younger. Its all we could listen to. So when "Blood in My Eye" came out I went and bought it.
Some versus about Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 cent and the rest of Gay Unit.

"First off fuck the snitch and that unit he claim
Fuck Dre partial, and Eminem
Plus the world heard it before, they tired of them
And they waiting for that thug shit from Rule' again
And Proof can bomb Proof your hummer then
Put a vest on yourself and your chilld-ren
Teacher be scared of death of them muderin'
Niggaz that like to put holes through chins'
In case y'all don't know about my savages
They'll kidnap you kid's, put em over a bridge
Got em'reminiscing to N-O-T-O-R-I-O-U-S
you just lay down slow
I blaze out in the six while letting the fifth go
I think "Big" as if I was wanted on deathrow
We tha world famous, murder inc we infamious
Fo' making bangers, and bangin' hammers shit"

HA, Ja straight up threatened their kids, thats fucked up.

What about:
Nas?
Brother Ali?
Jadakiss?
Juelz Santana?
Lupe Fiasco?
Corey Gunz?
Termanology?
Reks?

Hell, even Asher Roth.

Eminem isn't rock by the least bit.

It's hard to compare people in different time periods because there's no standard to apply it to. All of the above people have contributed to our society in some way, shape or form.

I think you need to formulate your topics first, then come to the debate section high.
