It's the Altador Cup again, but maybe you just haven't mastered the side games, or are looking for a way to make them just a bit easier? This is the guide for you. I'll be covering everything from the basics of the game and how to play, to how to cheat the easy way (oh, crap that rhymed). Let's get right into this, then, shall we?

Game: Slushie Slinger

Description: Customers are thirsty! Grab a slushie and toss it down the line. Make sure to pick up the trash when they're done.

How To Play: Customers enter from the left with a Slushie symbol over their head. You can give them any slushie, but giving them the desired slushie earns the most points. Use you direction arrows to face a slushie dispensor, press space to fill a cup, then face the proper counter, and press space to send the slushie down the line. They'll drink the slushie, then send the empty cup back. Make sure to be at the end of the counter, facing the counter to catch the empty cup.

You have 5 "lives" to work with.

What Causes You to Lose Lives:

  • Allowing a customer to reach the end of the counter without receiving a slushie
  • Missing an empty slushie cup
  • Sending a slushie down an empty lane
Scoring:

+5 for desired slushie delivery
+2 for non-desired slushie delivery
+3 for catching an empty slushie cup

Tips and Tricks:

  • Near the beginning, always send desired slushie. It will help you get past the "boring" part faster
  • Remember that the top counter is shorter... don't sling a slushie to the bottom then immediately send one to the top... add a brief pause or you'll miss a cup going over the edge
  • Once you begin to feel overwhelmed, give the customer ANYTHING... better to only gain 2 points than to lose a life

Score to Beat:
A score of less than 285 does not contribute to your team or to your ranking, so you need at least 285 to make your game matter

Pros and Cons:

+Easy game
+Worth 1/2 a YYB game
-Boring game, easy to get distracted/fall asleep
-Time consuming; Takes about 5 minutes for a score of 550+

How to Cheat: At the moment, the only way to cheat is score sending. This will be covered at the bottom.

Game: Make Some Noise

Description:
Cheer for your favorite team.

How to Play:
Alternate between pressing the keys listed at the beginning of the game. The faster the better. Hit the keys that pop up for bonus points.

Scoring:

Base Score for Speed
+Bonus Points

Tips and Tricks:

  • Don't play this game too long. Your arms will hurt.
Pros and Cons:

+Easy game
+Only takes about 7-12 seconds to play
-Only worth 1/12 of a YYB gam
-Physically Taxing

Score to Beat: 3000 is the minimum score the counts for teams and rankings

How to Cheat: Get a macro program to push those buttons really fast, or use a score sender

Game: Shootout Showdown

Description: Practice making goals against a goalie

How to Play: Move the position with the arrow keys, adjust shot angle with arrow keys, then make the shot. 5 Goals to win.

Scoring:

+175 for making all 5 goals
+300 if you don't miss a goal, +100 if you miss 1-3
Time bonus for doing it fast
1200 is the max score

Tips and Tricks: Practice, find your rhythm, you should be able to beat this game every 7-12 seconds.

Pros and Cons:

+Easy game
+Only takes about 7-12 seconds to play
-Only worth 1/12 of a YYB game

Score to Beat: This shouldn't be necessary. You should be hitting a score of 900+ every game.

How to Cheat: Score Sender

Score Sending for The Cup

Using a score sender to nail the side games for the Altador Cup is relatively easy. Play the games a few times to find your scores and times, then put together a list. For advice on how to put together a list and use it, see my signature for a Score Sending tutorial.

Here's the GameIDs you'll need:

863: Slushie Slinger
862: Make Some Noise
1106: Shootout Showdown

Play as much as you want... just don't do it without "sleeping" or you'll draw unwanted attention to yourself.

Out of curiosity, what score and times do you use for MSN? I've been doing 5000-7500 in 15-20 seconds, but I'm finding that way too slow so I'm thinking of going lower (3000), just enough for the score to count and then do it much faster.

I've kept it long for safety reasons, but I'm doing SOSD MUCH faster and I've been safe.

I actually do the score I consistently get: about 7500 in 35-40 seconds (since the game actually lasts 30 seconds). SOSD I have down closer to 10 seconds with a perfect score (with a few imperfections thrown in to look natural). And SS takes over 5 minutes for a score of 500+. So when I send a list involving 50 MSN, 50 SOSD, and 20 SS it takes almost 3 hours. I shut down everything but the sender and come back later.

    BIGBIGBIGBIGBIGBIGBIG UPDATE!

I can't edit the first post, but I need to take this time to advise AGAINST scoresending ANY of the games.

Here is a big reason why:

    Posted Image

See the reason that was awarded? It was based on a factor that the scoresender would NOT be sending.

Until I get further evidence on other event Achievements, I'm going to leave the game as "Not Recommended"

WHICH GAMES CAN I SCORE SEND?
Slushie Slinger: Not recommended until further data collected
Make Some Noise: Not recommended until further data collected
Shootout Showdown: DO NOT SEND SCORES

I dunno if it'll affect you guys decision on whether to SS or not but some people have trouble with the achievements(myself didn't get the first one) so I figure TNT mightn't notice it. Besides you could do the achievement by hand and then SS after.

I'm gonna try to do it legit tho.

    well damn

i had been scoresending like crazy all morning

    we will see what happens

i can be the guinea pig i guess...i have sent 84 MSN, 81 SOSD, and 32 SS

EDIT: it doesnt keep track of your goals does it, dont you have to make FIVE goals for the game to end, basically saying that message means you played 40 games, because you have to make 5 goals each game to defeat it, correct?

true, but wouldnt your score reflect on the amount of goals you had?

it would look legit to me, i dont see why anyone would end the game or how the time could run out, its really easy, and i have played probably 20 legit since i have read this thread, getting 5 goals each time

Oh no! I hope this isn't the thing that finally does my account in. I think I will now desperately play 40 games legitly to get the achievement and hope TNT doesn't notice the 100 score-sent games already completed.

Wow I discovered another giant flaw with scoresending for Shootout Showdown. The time bonus leads to very exact scores, NOT a range:

    1161 - 49 seconds left
    1175 - 50 seconds left
    1189 - 51 seconds left
    1200 - 52+ seconds left

I was setting it to give me any score between 1100 and 1200, giving me a whole bunch of clearly impossible scores. Ugh, I thought I had checked carefully to see if any of the games needed a mod number.

I just set specific scores for this one.

I ALWAYS finish with 52+ seconds left. The question is did it take 5 or 6 shots?

It's 5 about 90% of the time, and 6 about 10% of the time.

If I were to make a list, I would literally make it say

    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
    score: 1200
score: 950 (or whatever the specific other score is)

I base all my lists on actual gameplay.
