In the easy-win department, Meridell swept Faerie Land and Kiko Lake swept Altado... wait... hold on... the points have been tallied and Altador posted a draw in Slushie Slinger! It's not enough to point them towards the top 4, but it's certainly better than being considered a push over!
Kreludor battled the Haunted Woods team, and Kreludor is proving day after day that they have what it takes to make it to the finals, sweeping the day's competition.
Maraqua launched another big upset today against Shenkuu, claiming the YYB win, while allowing a side game sweep. Maraqua may end up being the ruiner of the top-4 if not a close runner-up. If we don't get see Maraqua in the big 4 this year, we'll need to keep our eyes peeled next year!
Mystery Island split the wins with the underrated Terror Mountain, claiming YYB and MSN, but allowing Terror Mountain to keep the points for SS and SOSD. Despite the lack of strong showing, Mystery Island managed to jump 2 spots up from 8th place to 6th place. If they can pull things together, they might manage to try for the top spots, but today had better not be an example of their momentum.
Roo Island battled their statistical superior Tyrannia today and came out with a slight advantage, bringing things home on the YYB court, but allowing the dinosaurs to take home their side game sweep.
Virtupets has proven before that they have the tenacity to play with the big teams, but they insist on doing it on their terms, allowing Darigan to take home the YYB win, but giving them hell on the side games. Darigan lost their overall points to a SOSD and MSN loss coupled with a SS draw.
Now for the match everyone was looking forward to: Lost Desert v. Krawk Island. There is no love lost between these teams, as they have been duking it out for top positions since the beginning of the tournament, but Krawk Island wasn't taking any chances this time, and split the assault between all four games. They stretched themselves a bit too thin, and only came up with a draw in YYB, but pulled victories in all other departments. Both teams are still qualified for the top-4, but Krawk showed an almost decisive victory that the pirates hope to repeat once the finals roll around.
Another day down, and another day started. Here's to more exciting matches!
