None I tried worked when I was running vista, and firefox is definitely the best browser due to customisation ability.

? Who's talking about Vista?.....

7600.16399 x86

That is an update package that has been out for a while, helped stability a lot on 1 of the rigs I used it on. x64 is also available.
RTM release is only 7600.16385.

Um....

I ran WoW like a piece of cake (over a 100fps).

What MMORPG are you trying to run?

You're obviously doing something wrong if you're frequenting a BSOD. Think I've encountered them about 5 or 6 times on computers that I own, but seen plenty of others on computer which had wrong drivers and other bullshit.

The problem is that Anything that goes wrong within the kernel during startup, or while it is running, is reported as a BSOD.

The number one cause of BSOD's is

1)Hardware problems
2)Corrupted File System
3)Drivers
4)Virus

But when someone sees a BSOD, they think its the same error as always. There are over a thousand codes (Its so fun to try and fix them!!!)

So I've had Windows 7 for a while now (version 7077) and was wondering if I'd find any benefit in upgrading to the RTM.
There's the obvious benefit of reformatting, but have they made performance changes/added new cool features I should know about?

I'm loving this OS... been using it for over 2 months and although I had a few media center issues with the earlier builds, everything is working perfectly with version 7600.

The thing I like most about 7 is that even with my 2 year old computer with 1gb of ram and a pretty standard processor, it manages to run super smoothly.

I even installed it on my aspire one netbook and it runs just as well as XP did.

so far, very fast and stable.
of course, i got some programs who won't work properly, but i can live with that :)

Hmm is it working putting over Vista x64? I have a 64 bit copy, from when they were doing beta testing, still lying around.

RC1 is prehistoric and barely even shows a reflection of W7 RTM IMO

Definitely worth the upgrade up to 7600

I know absolutely nothing about windows 7, and was very reluctant when I switched to Vista a couple of months ago... I have had no problems at all, not that I've noticed anyway... What are some of the major upgraded features? Is it worth upgrading?

Or more simply, Yes its worth upgrading. MAY want to wait until the final comes out in October, but yes it's worth the upgrade.

Not sure if you guys know about this though... If you are currently going to college, or plan on going soon, you can get Windows 7 for a mere $30.

All you need actually is your school e-mail address (it needs to valid until October 22) and you are good. I already ordered my copy !!

LOL, I can make quite a few different email addresses, so you can pick up multiple copies and resell them on eBay at a discount and make a profit. It's not actually against their TOS either, so they can't bitch you out about it. I plan on picking up a few copies to do that because I really need the cash.

Since my boss hasn't paid me yet... >_>

I like Windows 7. I think it is better than WinXP(XP is the OS i used before upgrading to windows 7).

So far, it has no compatibility problems at all, at least with the programs I'm using now. WoW, warcraft, matlab etc.

The interface is really smooth too.
