I've only used the RC 7100 Build and I loved it! I ran it for a while on my computer and it was amazing! I've tested vista on my computer and then after about a month or so it ran into problems and became slow and annoying. Windows 7 though it perfect! When I feel the need to upgrade from XP I'm gonna do a clean Windows 7 install! Just make sure you get all the necessary drivers and you'll have a flawless experience :D

Pretty much. considering not a lot of things are "compatible with 7" most of the time if you download for vista it works like a charm. I think because of the bad name that vista got, they just wanted to rename it.

No. Thanks to the horrible job of manufactures (despite Microsoft's attempts to help) many products determined "ready for vista" where not ready for vista. This was not Microsoft's fault, they gave every manufacturer who wished, a specification for how to build the product. When they realized that manufacturers sucked, they took a step back and took a different approach. Windows 7 is designed for epic compatibility. They put a shitload of work into make it work with anything and everything(All drivers from previous versions of windows will work). Do not take away from their hard work by saying they just renamed vista.

True, also I do think it seems Win7 is a smaller change from the predecessor than some people are used to.

It really isn't. Their main focus was upon making it more user friendly. they dumbed down alot of the things needed to do, improve the "security center" and focused on making it easier for retards to use the computer. Including prompting for cd's for drivers, and automatically detecting from the cd, finding the drivers online, and other various tasks that seem to daunt millions of computer users. They also made Windows 7 have the capability to be stripped down to the necessities. They rearranged the .dll structure so they could transform it into a featureless 128mb version of windows 7 that can run applications.

They also focuses on faster boot times, and controlling the boot time to make root kits harder (The bootloarder checks the kernal, and the kernal checks the bootloader) Most of the changes are behind the scene, and an attempt to make it easier for every user. They whent though alot of trouble ensuring that vista and XP drivers could work with windows 7, while ensuring that they could enforce the same security as Windows 7 drivers. (They need to do this because the majority of virus's run by loadining themselves as a driver. Thus gaining system priliages).

The sad thing is that millions of users will never ever notice these improvements, because they will just click next while the computer does everything for them.

Bill Gates doesnt make any money from microsoft anymore. And hes not the richest anymore.

/fail.

Also, I do not support pirating of Operating Systems. Unlike most software and movies and music, programmers have to pour years of their time and effort into making a project, include teams of over a thousand people just to accomplish this task. Operating systems deserve the money that you pay to get it, especially since you will use it for several years.

Nope. He has no more stock in it, but I do believe he holds on to a "advisor" position, and makes 1 cent a year. He might even have quit that.

People just dont grasp what Microsoft has done for us. Everything that you know existing today is partly because of them. If personal computers had never been a big thing (Yay for GUI's), then a majority of inventions (Like large capactiy hard drives, superconductors, micro chips, etc etc) wouldnt even exist today. Cell phones would be a no, laptops would be a no, and so many other things just wouldnt exist, and certainly in not such numbers.

You gotta give them credit.

1. I exist today, with no credit given to MS
2. I give more credit to the aliens who provided us with the advanced technology. I just don't know why they picked the people they did T__T

All dumb things aside; W7 is the best operating system ever. I have no compatibility issues. I can run games just fine, program just fine and watch porn in style. W7 wins.
