8 core means nothing if you have no video card, no overclock, no RAIDed hard drives, but you have most of these things so.

The 8 core's actually beat all other processors without being overclocked, while they are. Its sexy to look at the benchmarks :)

Not many, virtually none currently. Also a overclocked C2Q would beat a stock i7, that's all I was saying.

When using Windows 7, Windows splits the process's among core automatically. This is an epic improvement, because programmers dont have to bother with adding it, and You can use old programs will improved performance.

Woah. That's crazy.

Though isn't the load from a game put on it's own core if it doesn't support multicore?

Nope. Its automatically split. When I play starcraft, it splits it among the cores perfectly. Its really sexy. The program will only ever see a single core. But Windows handles everything. It even takes over programs that do support multicore, because some of them suck at it, and others can only do a single core.

Also, I have heard (But cant test. Since I have a dedicated card) that if you have Intel's Built in graphics card, you can dedicate cores to the video card alone, to act as a GPU. That would mean an insane boost for those cards.

You'll end up loving the sexy taskbar too :p. I love it.

Yeah. Windows 7 provides ALOT of performance boost, and has the least amount of compatibility issues of any of their series. Its a very strong candidate for becoming Godlike.
