So far mine is kicking everyone elses ass :p

You cant beat 8 cores

i7's only have 4 physical cores. Each core is running 2 virtual threads (HT enabled) resulting in 8 "threads" that you see in the task manager.
Only apps that are designed to run on multiple threads can take full advantage of this. Otherwise, older games like starcraft, bf2 (single threaded games) will only run as fast as a single core.

Now for my comps specs!
(*opens up cpuz*)

CPU: AMD X2 3800+ oc'd to 2.9GHz (Stable)
Memory: DDR400 2GB
MB: MSI K8N-Neo4-F
Video: XFX 4890XTX oc'd to 985/1100

Heh..my cpu's the bottleneck during games. Solution? Max out the video settings to slow down the graphics card and give the cpu a chance to breathe xD

L2 read. I just ran startcraft, and all eight cores where being used. Windows 7 takes care of this, rather then forcing programs to do it.

He might have to L2 read but you have to L2 spell.

/leaves thread.

Maybe you should learn to L2 read. I never stated anything regarding HOW windows 7 balances its cpu load to invalidate your point, but the MAX SPEED the program will run at if its a single threaded app, which is as fast as a SINGLE CORE. That means windows 7 WILL distribute its load across several cores (to keep the temps of each core even), but the execution speed will still be as fast as a single core. In fact, while playing a cpu demanding game, the i7 will throttle down its unused cores and OC one core and make your game stick to it (Turbo enabled).

Sorry for going off-topic...I'll shut up now. Please in the future google this stuff before slamming other people. It only makes you look stupid.

Edit: spelling
