    Reading a chat I wasn't involved in is sort of like listening to having to listen to other people's dreams. If I'm not in it, can't bring myself to care.
    But. You're all wrong.
    I think the real purpose for modern human life is to argue on the internet as much as possible.

    I disagree.
    Everyone loves to argue on the internet. EVERYONE.
    And if they're not on the internet, then they're at their local CVS arguing with the sales clerk about why they're out of stock on Angel Soft toilet paper when it's in the ad.

    Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. (Tool - Third Eye)
    Think about that ya? Better yet, think about it on acid ;p

    *Stands in amazement* That meaningless conversing between you lot gives even brainfuck a run for its money :p

    As for the meaning of life well that's a tricky one. Subjectively it can vary a lot and is the cause of a lot of conflict especially in terms of religious people. For this reason I don't really follow religion however I think there are things in every religion (or almost every) which have great meaning and should be listened to. Here's one way of looking at it which is slightly outlandish.

    First of all I'll establish some things. Some people are aware while others aren't that we are just energy. You've probably all heard of Einstein's famous equation e=mc^2 where e is energy, m is mass and c^2 is the speed of light squared (which is constant). Another equation which not too many people know is Max Planck's equation for energy e = hf where e is energy, h is Planck's constant and f is the electromagnetic frequency. Let's do a contrast on these two equations.

    e=mc^2 - This is really the potential energy of a given mass.
    e=hf

    h and c^2 are both constants so they can go.

    e = m
    e = f

    This tells us that changes in frequency result in changes in energy which result in changes in mass. With this now in mind I'll proceed into Dr. Walter Russell and his works on philosophy. In his philosophy everything appears out of the one and returns to what he calls 'the one'. Before I proceed any further it is of interest to note that electron/positron pairs are being emitted out of the quantum vacuum (21st century science's aether). These pairs cancel each other out and thus return to the quantum vacuum in a fashion Walter Russell hypothesized nature worked. I'll just note that Russell was around before the quantum theory. Proceeding, everything works in a cyclic function in the philosophy of Walter Russell aka. waves. Back to the quantum vacuum, stated in theories of this 'vacuum' is the notion that the quantum vacuum is responsible for EVERYTHING. So if we take this quantum vacuum as being 'the one' that Walter Russell talks about. An electromagnetic wave travels through the quantum vacuum at a select frequency so what does that make mass? It makes it a frequency in the quantum vacuum. My take on this is that the meaning of life is to change the frequency of that around us to bring it closer to becoming nothing but energy or also put; convert everything into energy.

    Now that's probably way more fucked that anything put forward in the IRC conversation however I'm sick of everyone thinking the same way so there's just something to chew on :)
