Though, I'm pretty sure she loved him by the end of the movie, she went through a rather rough life, and Forest was always there for her, so after so many years she finally made up her mind and realized her true feelings for Forest. (Considering Forest loved Jenny all of his life.)

it's hard to tell... isn't it? mmm... i think they loved each other, but it would be a boring kind of love so that's probably why jenny kept running off. i think forest knew that so he kind of just accepted it.... i mean they both pretty much did what they wanted xD

I bet in her case she really didn't love him as a lover. She probably loved him as an individual and a friend and wanted to give him the experience of sex..or just a boob grab. She cared for him but didn't care to be with him.
Since she did not even tell him about his son until she was dying means she did not want him in her son's life as if to let him live a normal life without people knowing about his retarded dad.
When you aren't going to be around it kind of changes the circumstances.
I do not think it was a love story. From what I've seen in some clips about the movie it was supposed to be a parody about him achieving so much and being in so many famous or historical events without even realizing it.
Anyways,
If you loved someone you wouldn't avoid them your whole life as a way of showing it..even if you felt that they deserved better than you.

but i have to agree i don't think it was a love story. forest just seemed to always be jenny's fallback. and also i don't remember it well i suppose but i don't think it was clear at all that there it was definitely forest's son except jenny saying so. she's is definitely not a trustworthy character imo

when i watched it so many years ago i never really understood the purpose of the movie. It was shown in social studies class because it had a lot of historical moments and that's why we watched it in class. But other than that i had no idea what it was about lol.

True. I never thought about the possibility that Forrest Jr. could be a son from a different father. Did Jenny and Forrest ever have sex? Except that one time that they were in college?

Later on she came back to him and they "spend the night together" then in the morning she ran away again. It was his child..just one of those cases where you have sex with a person once and they are pregnant.

When Jenny was in college she let him touch her boob and then he came in his pants.

But there had to be AT LEAST 10 -15 years between the alleged sex and the revealing of the baby.
But looking this up on a well-known informational website. Forrest and Jenny DID have sex when Jenny comes to Forrest's house and she leaves the next day. Then he runs. I completely forgot about that.

They loved each other. But they were both really stupid, so it didn't work out.

It WAS his son, when Jenny came back to Forrests house near the end of the movie and stayed there for a while, she went into his room and they slept together, but after that she took off again.Hah I forgot that there was a long time inbetween. Weird I guess then he wasn't his son. Would explain why he looked a lot like the kid from the sixth sense and not forrest....
It doesn't matter what the actor looked like, yes it was Haley Joel Osment, but that doesn't mean it wasn't his son, they really can't get a kid that physically LOOKS like Forrest (Tom Hanks), because that means Tom would actually need a child the same age as Forrest Jr was and that Tom and the mother would allow him to be in the film.
(Geez, not that hard)

I'll have to work on making my sarcasm more noticable when I type so people dont have to keep shitting bricks over nothing.
*sarcasm* Oh wow! I really thought they would have just made tom have a child for the movie so that he could get the part. *sarcasm*

Oh, thank goodness you were only being sarcastic. Because we were all REALLY seriously totally shitting bricks because of this mucho importante discussion about a Tom Hanks movie. Whew. I needlessly had to use Tucks on my aching butthole all because I thought you were serious.
And just to be on topic:
Haley Joel Osment looks retarded, thus making him perfect for the part of Forest Gump's child.
Hey, remember when Forest Gump beat up that one dude who was Jenny's boyfriend, who in turn coined the phrase, "BULLSHIT ASSHOLE"? That was hilarious.
p.s. Some might not agree Jenny loved Forest, but there's no denying Tom Hanks loved Wilson in Cast Away.
