As I'm sure everybody is aware, you can play DS games using an SD card....but can you do it with the Wii? If not, then what are the other ways of playing Wii games that you didn't pay for? :p

I just found some info on playing backups without modding the Wii. Modding is something I'm not willing to do :p.

You could always soft mod, which requires no physical work done to the Wii.

What exactly does "soft modding" entail?

You'll install the Homebrew Channel and gain access to the Homebrew browser, which is filled with different applications, games people have made, emulators etc etc.

Though I also know there is a way to download Wii games (From say Bitgamer, but you need to be invited to it) and insert them either onto a SD card or USB Drive and play them as so.

Edit: I dug up the guide from the Wiibrew wiki: Here.

But for the mod chips, aren't there new ones where you can just attach and doesn't have to soldier?
