The only other alternative would be a Server, which I dont think fits his needs very well?

If you dont understand. The term PC is short for Personal Computer. You're overprices Mac is also a Personal Computer.

So. This topic is just full of redundancy. Thanks for brining it up again.

If I've the money, I would own a macbook. They are way more portable but there's so many programs not working on Mac so I'm kinda torn anyway :/

Windows for sure.
Lots of programs aren't compatible with MAC. :/

Yeah, definitely a PC, preferably running Win7.

I don't care what people say about macs being more user friendly. They're only user friendly if you suck at dealing with computers in the first place.

I don't really see how a Mac is more user friendly, I've used both in my line of work. Linux with a windows based gui is more user friendly haha.

Mac. Because I can run windows on it and get the best of both worlds.

I have a Mac labtop and a PC desktop. My degree is in graphics so I'm used to macs because of school, but overall as a computer I use my PC.

I use my Mac for designing more though. :).

You could just get parallels for the mac and run windows on that. Then you wouldn't need a desktop...

I love the Mac that my family has as a family computer. We've had it for over a year and had yet to get a virus which is surprising considering how much porn my stepfather downloads. Not to mention I can download as much music as I want without worrying about viruses.

My laptop is a PC which is great as well but I'm getting a Mac laptop for college so I guess my current laptop will just be used for the programs on here. lol.

I use both. Mac for pretty much everything, but then my PC for gaming.

Can we close this topic already? Its really stupid to have a topic called, "Computer or computer" considering a Mac is a fucking pc as well. I'm sick of seeing stupid people post about technology. Tell them to go to another forum to talk about how much they love the Mac because its not a Personal Computer somehow, or how they manage to not have a virus when over 60# of Macs have virus's.

And why is Mac even capitalized? The only thing special about it is that it costs 1000 dollars more. So for a thousand dollars extra you get to capitalize Mac? Thats stupid. :(

Please close this topic because its pointless for it to even be here. The title is asking people if they should have a computer or a computer, and thats pointless. They will obviously get a personal computer which means that the answer will always be PC, or it will be nothing.

Quit worrying about semantics. The implication is obvious.

i like both
but mac is certainly cool^^
there are little tits and bits that make mac cooler in some points than a pc, and there are many program alternatives for mac too
it's a pointless discussion imo bcz it depends on what you use it for, in some points you'd better use a mac and for others a pc

It's how people seem to deal with technology today.

Hmm . . . PC is compatible with more programs while Mac supposedly has better security when really virus developers choose not to target Macs since they only make up a small percentage of the overall computer population.  And either way a good antivirus software is all you really need to stop viruses from getting on your computer.  And Windows 7 is so good at conserving resources when it comes to casual gaming.

PC (Windows). I use a lot of homebrew and obscure programs that only run on Windows.

I currently have a Mac, which works for me for the most part, but my next computer will be a PC.

I have both, but I tend to spend more time on my mac because its portable but when I want to do something important I usually use my desktop pc.
