If you're not doing epic multi-tasking, you probably wouldn't fully utilize a quad cores capabilities. So if it's mainly for games I would recommend saving some $$ and getting a dual core with a higher clock speed as I don't think there are any games out yet that can use all 4 cores.

Windows 7 = Full cpu core usage for any application. Get with the times.
