Let me quote the way i explained it to Missy:
Step 1.
He decides to test acne medications
Step 2.
In the interest of scientific integrity, he only tests it on half his face so that he can see the difference
Step 3.
The acne medication works well. So half of his face clears up
Step 4.
He gets mistaken for Two-Face and gets punched by Batman
