I have trouble sleeping at nights. I've noticed that I skeep very quickly when my fan is on high or the aircon is on and my room is extremely cold.

I only sleep in boxers and I've tried other methods like having no blankets but I still can't get to sleep easy. It takes hours to fall asleep this way.

The problem is that when I wake up the next morning I often have cold systems. Today I've been sneezing literally hours and hours. My hanky is absolutely drenched. D:

Any ways to prevent this?

A circadian rhythm is basically your sleep cycle. Going to sleep at the same time everynight and wake up at the same time is the best way to promote a sleep pattern.

Are you too hot? Is that the problem youre getting at?

I thought it might me being hot but If i kick all the blankets off & just lay there in boxers [no excessive clothing to warm me up] I still can't sleep. I can open the window or keep it closed. It's just a mass struggle. I can lay on the couch watching tv and im yawning & ready for bed but as soon as I go lay down I'm suddenly unable to fall asleep.

I would say best thing to do is go to your doctor and he may be able to suggest you some sort of prescription to help, or just take sleeping pills.

I also have trouble with sleeping (not the same way as you though), so sorry i can't help more.

    It's okay, you meant well

try exercise, and sleeping at the same time everyday. try to wake up with the sun and sleep when the sun sets

    Although that's very impractical

I don't go to doctors. xD I'm scared of them.

I live pretty close to the beach (like 600m from the water) so I go for a walk along the beach for like an horu everyday.
+ I do weights multiple times a week
+ i go for a bike ride most days [sometimes i skip a few days 'cause its bad weather or i just cant be fucked]

& yeah. I try sleep at the right times. I used to have really bad hours like go to bed at 6am [yet this way i fell asleep very quickly] but i've swapped that around and now im up from like 7am - 9am.

I've heard that eating a big meal before sleeping is supposed to make you sleep better but is there any proof or studies carried out?

^ That reminded me of a bear hibernating for some reason. xD

Well it's more the tryptophan released when you eat a big meal tells your body and brain to stop working so hard. So you feel sleepy. Once you're asleep you probably don't sleep any better

And it's pretty bad for your intestinal tract and can make you fat really quickly

Isuggest a large dose of heroin into any of your major veins, your chin will hit your chest before you pull the needle out.

I have issues getting to sleep too.

I think using computers and watching TV messes with your brain and keeps it awake when you try to sleep. I would suggest not watching TV or going on the compuer for 1/2 hour before you attempt to sleep.

Have you tried just turning the TV off and falling asleep on the couch? Sometimes I find I'm so tired I just pass out with all the lights on in my bedroom.

I exercise too, and it sounds like you're doing the right thing which is a step in the right direction. Do you exercise in the morning? Doing it too close to bed will keep you up.

I don't really have a set time to workout. My days are literally open as anything so my routine is constantly changing.

& no computer / tv for 30 mins before bed? D: what am i supposed to do then? D:

    my parents get up early for work which means i'll get woken up early if i sleep on the couch D;

do you smoke? If you do don't smoke right before bed that'll keep you up. I've noticed for myself anyway that if I sleep in a different place each night, like the couch, then the bed, then the spare room or something like that I fall asleep faster T_T.

It's this simple: wear my patented vibrating heat-bead suit, then jam an unbelievable amount of pure, raw crystal meth into your system! You might ask, "Isn't crystal meth illegal?" You bet!

If you can do the workouts in the morning, it will definately help your body rhythums and sleep.

I know, I use computers before sleeping, my sleep patterns are screwed up. I rely heavily on caffine (which is an alternative cure) to work and go to uni.

I'm lucky, because if I pass out in front of the TV, then its cos the TV is in my room :)

When I blast the fans at night I often pick up a cold. If you're too hot, sleep in sheets, but leave the fan off (especially if it's right overhead). I used to have this problem all the time. Another solution is, when sleeping, physically force yourself not to move. People toss and turn when they can't get to sleep. If you stay still, you're far more likely to sleep easy.

Your mind is also probably active. You probably jump right off the computer or tv and in to bed? Read a book. Try to clear your mind when falling asleep. Don't think.

Thats the problem I have :( I lay down and my mind starts spidering out strange scenarios about all the things that happened during the day, takes me about two or three hours to go to sleep.

You could always try to use music, every night i go to sleep with my music on, and it really helps me fall asleep.

Or even maybe a soothing sound such as a waterfall or rain and thunder or one of those things.
